Bodywork Classes

Massage Technician

Body Mind College’s Massage Technician course is a unique program training you in the foundational, underlying principles of massage therapy and health as a whole. In this class you learn all of the traditional bodywork techniques that are used in a massage practice; but rather than focusing solely on the techniques, we train you in what is underlying the techniques. You will learn how to connect with your client, how to find trauma in their body and how to release it. This is a simple, but profound teaching style that we have had great success with since this class began in 1988. You will also learn the art of T’ai Chi – the most widely used exercise in the world. Chair Massage

Chair massage is a quickly growing and potentially very lucrative field. Some therapists are focusing solely on chair massage as their primary massage income with clients in office buildings, trade shows, and high foot traffic areas. Others use chair massage as their most successful marketing tool. By introducing people to invasive and non-threatening structured touch in a public setting, you attract clients for your longer table massage practice.

This class is a wonderful introduction into the skills, techniques, and practices necessary to be an effective and professional chair massage practitioner. The class will cover the techniques and principles needed to give an enjoyable and therapeutic chair massage, as well as teach special body mechanics for working with a chair. This is a fun and exciting class and anyone interested in being a professional massage practitioner is encouraged to take it.

Body Mind college will be creating their own Chair Massage Team for the Sorrento Valley area. In addition, advocates of natural medicine are committed to the principle of causing no harm to the patient and to treating the person as a whole.

Understanding and Using Your Chakras

Come and experience the seven major energy centers of your body, called Chakras. These centers or vortexes of energy give us the ability to receive, assimilate and send life energy. They represent seven archetypal levels of consciousness. Each of these levels of consciousness is built on the level below it which provides a foundation.

Therefore, it is important that we are first grounded from our 1st Chakra; feel our emotions freely from our 2nd Chakra; engage life and draw our power from our 3rd Chakra; love and relate from our 4th Chakra; communicate from our 5th Chakra; see and envision from our 6th Chakra so that we can freely connect with cosmic energies and pure consciousness from our 7th Chakra.
