Whether it’s cliché or not, we end all of our conversations in the same way. We tell

customers, “we’re here to solve problems and make a difference in their business”.

At first we were just making sensors, not the full system. Dealers started saying, ‘You guys should

build a panel. You should do what all the other guys are out there doing, but do it right. You guys get it.’

Most of the existing panel manufacturers were chasing a larger screen — making it bigger, better

and prettier. They continued driving down the path of the security system being the touch screen

consumers would

use. The problem

with that strategy?

Consumers

already own a touch screen. In fact, most families have several. It’s iPhones, iPads, Galaxies, and

any other smart devices on the market today. Consumers have chosen their connection to the world,

and it isn’t on a wall in the hallway. Before we decided to make a panel, we were frustrated watching

the other manufacturers chase the wrong target, but after we started the new Helix architecture,

we were delighted! We had so many of the parts already in place, so we were a long ways down

the road on the grand development to deliver a panel that helps both dealers and consumers.

So off we went– working on a system that wasn’t focused on the panel but a wireless solution

that could be placed anywhere in a home. One that could be controlled by the devices that

have become so native to consumers– phones and tablets. When it came time for reactions

at ESX 2014, we held their breath. With the dealer being at the center of everything we

do, this was a crucial moment. We had a very heartening experience. Dealers reactions

were one of two– ‘Finally, someone gets it…’ or, ‘I didn’t see this coming, but YES.’

These are the reactions that we live for.

It was the right thing to do, so we did it.

“Caring means having a really good product and having

a really good product is how you make a difference.”

SMART HOME

ADVANTAGES

There is more to a security system than just detecting unauthorized entry. Security systems

today need to manage energy usage, heating and cooling, door locks and even lights.

These systems are all part of our daily lives and their use and behavior tend to change

based on the occupancy of the home. Helix is the only platform that provides control for all

of these aspects and can be managed from the smart phone or tablet you use every day.

(5)

The Helix panel introduces a revolutionary new architecture to the security industry. It is the first fully wireless

system that can be installed anywhere in the home. This not only ensures a more discreet and secure system; it

also gives dealers the cost effective and consistent installation process they need to drive down account creation

costs. The Helix platform enables monitoring and control through a partnership with SecureNet Technologies.

The combined offering transforms how interactive controls are delivered, providing faster reaction to commands

than any other interactive security offering. This is accomplished by processing all in-home connectivity through a

Bluetooth Version 4.1 technology LE connection; an industry first. Remote communications with the Helix platform

are performed over an “always-on” connection maintained with the SecureNet service. SecureNet maintains this

connection, whether using broadband or cellular communications. These approaches allow the panel to provide

the responsiveness required to maintain a dealer’s high-valued customers. In addition, all security sensors are

protected with CryptiX encryption technology. This not only improves the integrity and privacy of the security system

information inside the home, it also prevents other security dealers from taking over accounts from other dealers.

(6)

Simple, no-tools installation reduces costs while maximizing performance. Totally wireless

peripherals (one and two-way) enable discrete, secure and repeatable installations. Direct

Bluetooth Version 4.1 technology local control or cloud-based remote control from the same

app provides unmatched system response times for the users. 1500 foot open-air range for

all Resolution sensors ensures large-home coverage without repeaters. Encrypted sensor

communications provide added security and maximize dealer account retention rates.
