A Project Assessment will quickly identify unseen issues

and risks, and maximize the chances of the project

continuing successfully. Assessments are quick (from 2

days to a week), affordable, and are done in a manner to

minimize impacts on the team’s work. Assessments may

be done at any time in the project life, but for best results

are done in the first month, and quarterly thereafter.

A project assessment is done with interviews and review of documents, and will evaluate:

Compliance with PM standards

Adequacy of staffing and effectiveness of roles Customer relationship and agreement

Management of scope and change Effectiveness of processes

Progress against the project plan, and adequacy of the plan Budget actual vs plan and causes of variance

Success on a project may sometimes be dependent on the

specific skills and execution of the Project Manager and

team. Success across your project portfolio is dependent on

a common set of standards of project execution, and

compliance with those standards by all PMs and teams.

MicroAgility can help you to build PM processes using best

practices in the industry.

TM

PM process building starts with the evaluation of existing processes,

and matches these to industry standards, such as PMI’s PMBOK.

Specific deficiencies are identified and prioritizes, based on their impact on past and current projects. A PM standards manual is built, using the industry best practices and templates, tailored to needs of your organization. If needed, training for the entire process, or targeted training for specific skills may be built and given to your PMs, to project teams, to management, and even to your customers.

Building of these processes is enhanced by also doing selected project assessments, to ensure compliance, and to identify needs for additional training or development.

Most organizations have some PMs who are recent

additions to the staff, some who were developed from

the technical ranks into PMs, and some who are very

experienced. A training program can be powerful in

getting all PMs to a common set of knowledge about

Project Management processes, best practices and the

standards you have implemented. Training is then

enhanced by experience, gained from developmental

assignments.

Training can be comprehensive, covering all PM topics, and/or it can focus on particular topics, such as Risk Management, Schedule

Tracking, or Customer Communication. We can also provide one-on-one mentoring. In this manner, you can start with general training, and then reinforce particular aspects over time, to manage your investment of time, and maximize value.

Training is always tailored to the specific processes and needs of your

organization. TM

While MicroAgility has standard training available for most topics, we will be sure to address the areas where more focus is needed by your PMs.
