A range of events

The Festival Committee is planning a packed schedule of events - from the Opening Ceremony and Launch Party, right up to the unique Farewell Breakfast on the morning after the close of the festival!

In between there will be Gala Screenings, lunch chat sessions with big names from the industry, a Festival Dinner, Award Ceremony and Wrap Party - with several parties in between!

Each event offers great opportunities for networking, corporate entertaining and for pointing the spotlight directly at your brand.

SUNRISE FILM FESTIVAL

Great Films, wonderful communities, stunning scenery

The Sunrise Film Festival will screen films from all over the world, attracting visitors to the host communities along the Sunrise Trail - from Pictou to Pugwash.

Located centrally on the trail is River John, a pretty village close to a large number of beaches and home town to a 30-year run of summer festivals that has attracted thousands of visitors.

Visitors will enjoy the films, associated workshops and seminars. They will also want to

taste everything else the region has to offer and provide tangible benefits to a wide range of businesses and services along the north shore.

The organizers want to extend every opportunity to the business community to spread the benefits of this exciting new venture.

The Sunrise Film Festival Society is a non-profit group with the intent of putting surplus funds from the festival into community projects along the Sunrise Trail.

FROM ONE EVENT TO FESTIVAL COVERAGE - PACKAGES TO PUT YOUR BRAND IN CLOSE UP

Partnering with the Sunrise Film Festival will not only put your brand in front of the visitors, audiences and participants, but through our own web site and promotional activities, your business name will reach around the Province and beyond.

We will work with you to help you maximize your involvement, through corporate entertaining, photo

opportunities and much more, we can extend the reach of your promotional activities and generate a positive reaction to your brand and products or services.

EXPERIENCED HANDS AT THE HELM

Having experienced first hand many film festivals around the world, producer Stuart Cresswell believed that River John had everything required to bring a vibrant festival to the north shore.

Enter Troy Greencorn, Artistic Director of the deCoste Centre in Pictou and founder and Artistic Director of StanFest, one of Nova Scotia’s key music festivals. Together they hatched a plan to create an annual film festival to benefit the entire region.

And River John is the right place - the geographic centre of the festival route - and this village already hosts two annual festivals that bring thousands of people to the area - River John’s annual festival days, a week-long summer celebration; and Read by the Sea,

which brings writers and readers together every year in River John.

The Society has established a Management Committee to establish the day-to-day running of the festival, and it is expected that as the festival grows, other teams will be needed to manage specific aspects of the festival.

For now, the team continues to grow as more people volunteer, each with the right skills and experience to take the festival forward.

We continue to need helping hands - with or without film or festival

experience - and if you want to roll your sleeves up, get in touch!

workshops; interviews and one-on-one sessions with big names from the industry.

Event sponsors will benefit from their logo visible throughout the event and from a spoken announcement prior to the event. The sponsor should maximize exposure at events by making cards and brochures available or other promotional items such as key chains, pens etc.

Each lounge sponsor will benefit from visible branding, announcements and the opportunity to engage with professionals and use the space for their own meet and greet sessions.
