APPLICATION PROCESS (SA CITIZENS)

Applicants are urged to follow the online application process at www.sun.ac.za , click on e-application, then on prospective students.

After all the steps have been followed, a reference number will be allocated, which will serve as the student number once you have been accepted as a student at Stellenbosch University. Please make sure to keep this as you will quote this every time you make an enquiry.

You will also be provided with an account number for the application fees and a fax number and e-mail address where you will forward all your supporting documents. Current students need not do the on-line application.

Should you not have access to the Internet, please submit an application form for Postgraduate Studies. Application forms can be obtained from the Postgraduate Office in the Teaching Building, Room 4044B.

Application fee should be paid by cheque, bank draft or postal order and must be attached to the application form with your name clearly marked on the back (do not send any cash to us by post).

(INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS)

All international students must visit the International Office for post graduate students before registration for verification of prior qualifications and further arrangements. They must provide the International Office with:

• Passport

• Proof of medical insurance • Proof of payment of annual fees • Study permit

R 4 400 (R 200 registration fee + R 4 200 towards tuition fees) International students:

(1) SADEC countries

R 6 060 (R 1 910 international registration fee + R 4 150 service fee*)

(2) Other countries

R 7 680 (R 3 530 international registration fee + R 4 150 service fee*)

* Service fee covers items such as internet access, photocopies; The balance (unused funds) can either be refunded to a student at the end of an academic year,

or it can be transferred to the next year of study.

(2) Pay R30 at cashiers for campus access card (3) Pay R150 at cashiers for parking levy

(4) Take form & receipts to Ms Jennifer Adams in Rm 0022 to have a parking disc and access card issued

Parking areas:

Parking space is limited on the campus. Please adhere to the parking bays allocated.

Note:

Students registered for single modules have the option not to obtain a parking disc, but will then have to sign in as visitors and are only allowed to park on visitors bays (also limited). Penalties are payable if students do not park in the allocated areas according to their parking discs.

BURSARIES

Stellenboch University offers financial assistance to full-time and part-time students as a contribution to the cost of postgraduate study. This assistance is based on academic merit, financial need and academic potential.

The University can unfortunately not guarantee any student sufficient financial assistance to cover all study and living expenses. Students are advised to plan their finances carefully and to check whether or not they meet the basic requirements, such as academic merit, before applying for a bursary.
