TOURNAMENT HISTORY

Lydia Ko, 2014 Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic Champion

In 2014, the LPGA returned to the Bay Area for the first time in 5 years. 144 of the top female golfers from all over the world competed for the inaugural

Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic crown, and the tournament came down to the final hole, with teen-phenom Lydia Ko

emerging victorious over the top ranked player in the world, Stacy Lewis!

Be a part of the excitement when the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic returns to Lake Merced Golf Club this April 20-26, 2015!

(3)

A CELEBRATION OF GOLF,

ART AND CULTURE

An international field embraced the San Francisco culture, with 8 players from 8 countries taking a ride on a San Francisco Cable Car which was placed on the 18th tee box.

A famous Taiwanese artist designed and shipped 18 sculptures to Lake Merced for the players to walk under as they

entered every tee. Each sculpture had a symbolic meaning in a woman’s life.

A “GIANT” TAKEOVER

On Friday, April 25th, 2014, the

Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic took over AT&T Park, sponsoring “Golf Night at the Ballpark” at the San Francisco Giants game. Sponsors enjoyed hospitality while 5 LPGA players took part in a VIP tour of the park and a Q&A session with tournament guests. Two of the game’s biggest stars and Northern California natives, Paula Creamer (Pleasanton) and Michelle Wie (Stanford), participated in the “First Chip” of the game – strikes right down the middle!
