Public Schools

The Sahuarita Unified School District (SUSD) encompasses a geographic area of 600 square miles. However, the majority of the 5,029 enrolled students live in the town of Sahuarita. An outstanding percentage of the SUSD students continue their education at universities, community colleges and technical schools. Visit the SUSD website to access more specific district academic information. There are also two public charter schools in Sahuarita, offering parents and students educational alternatives.

The Economic Development Commission of Sahuarita has created a Marketing Information document for the SUSD. Explore the Arizona Department of Education website for the school report cards in the Town of Sahuarita.

Anza Trail School is a neighborhood school providing educational services for grades kindergarten through eighth grade located in Rancho Sahuarita. This is the newest school in the district, opening in January 2007.

Sahuarita Primary School serves students in grades preschool through second. It is located on the main campus, which serves the northern part of the district.

Edge High School Edge High School is a free public high school operated by The Edge School, Inc., an independent, non-profit organization. It is an alternative school for students in grades 9-12 who are ready to take charge of their own learning. Student needs are addressed with an individualized, self-paced high school curriculum. Edge High School provides a safe environment that promotes respect, responsibility, choice, service and high expectations. At Edge, students learn behaviors for success.

In addition to coursework developed to complete a high school diploma program, Edge offers courses that are designed to remediate the academic skills of students who enter our high school with skill levels that are below grade level.

Edge High School

Sahuarita Christian Academy The Academy is an open enrollment private Christian school with 501(c)3 non-profit Arizona Corporation that offers a quality academic foundation for the average and above average student, grades K-12. Academic and spiritual standards are high with added emphasis on patriotism and character training.

The Academy is also an affiliated "Distance Education School" that utilizes a fully accredited curriculum from A Beka Academy, Pensacola Christian Academy and Pensacola Christian College. Sahuarita Christian Academy's distance education curriculum is accredited by the Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (FACCS), the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI) which also includes the North Central Association (NCA) and the Commission on Inter-nation Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA) which

together provides Academy students the benefits of regional, national and international reciprocal accreditation.

The Sahuarita Christian Academy is also proud to be the first in the State of Arizona to build a LEED Certified K-12 "green" school for its students.

Universities & Colleges

Just to the north of Sahuarita, Tucson offers two advanced education institutions. Pima Community College (PCC) features numerous degree and certification programs for students. Its mission is simple: "To develop our community through learning."

PCC campuses are located throughout the Tucson area. PCC also has education centers around the region. The Community Learning and Performing Arts Center in Green Valley offers personal interest classes for the community. Students may be able to transfer credits to the University of Arizona for
