Software Protection Server

Instead of using a „hardlock-dongle“ (e.g. parallel, serial, USB, PCMCIA), software protection can be used in order to provide your computer with a moveIT@ISS+ licence.

It is also possible to establish directly a local software protection on client operating systems. Take further information from the manual „Software protection client“.

Advantages:

 There won’t be any initial costs, like there would be when using a „hardlock-dongle“.

 Another advantage opposite software protection client is that the licences themselves are not bound to the local client.

Disadvantages:

 The disadvantage opposite software protection client is that the licence „cannot be taken“ (e.g. notebook with additional local moveIT@ISS+ version for field staff). The licence is bound to the network version database.

Software protection activation procedure:

1. Delete the old licence

ATTENTION:

This point is cancelled by a new installation with new licence or changeover of Dongle to software protection. Should this be the case, continue now with point 2 on the page 3.

In order to transfer your data from the old PC to the new one it is important to save/copy the data (folder moveIT_ISS) of your installation. (for this the

database must be stopped first at the server!)

This has to be done BEFORE carrying out the following steps.

Open the moveIT@ISS+ installation on your old PC – as always.

Open the dialog „Dongle Settings“ via [File] [ISS Tools] [Programs] [Dongle Settings]

Click the button to delete the old software-protection. This version will still work for 30 days and will be disabled afterwards.

If you confirmed this message you will receive a deactivation code. You will need this code to order a new software-protection (for your new pc). Please write down this code or send the deactivation code-file (from the installation-path) via email (together with the hardware-registration-code, step 2).

Without this special code it will not be possible to create a new software protection.

2. Create a hardware signatur (on the new server)

Execute a new installation (see manual „New installation central network version“). Should be wished a takeover of the old database in the new moveIT@ISS+ network installation, execute the manual „Database takeover“ (is cancelled by a new

installation or changeover of Dongle to software protection server).

During the first 5 days after the new installation we provide you a moveIT Setup licence, so that you can start the program immediately after the installation. Nevertheless your licence shoud be activated as soon as possible, therefore you have to request your software protection.

So that you can request the software protection, open the window „Dongle Settings“ by clicking on [File] [ISS Tools] [Programs] [Dongle settings]

If you have not activated the software protection since the moveIT Setup licence expires, the following message appears, when you start the program. Please confirm the message by clicking on the buttion [Yes] to open the „Dongle Settings“.

Now tick the strap „SWS Server“ and enter your moveIT@ISS+ licence number, which can be found on your contract we sent to you.

To confirm the licence number, please click on the button: .

Now click on the button .

Then please send an email containing your dongle number and hardware signature

to [email protected]. You can paste your hardware signature from your clip board into

your email, by clicking on Edit\Paste from the menu bar. Please, announces to us, in addition, the name of the assistant or the PC name for which this software protection is issued. Within 24h (during business days) you will receive your registration code and dongle number via email.

3. Dongle number and registration code entry

Please restart your moveIT@ISS+ session and open the window for the dongle administration.

Confirm your licence number (do not change that number!) and enter your dongle number and registration code.

The safest way in order to avoid spelling mistakes, would be to highlight the numbers on your email, copy (CTRL + C) them into your clip board and paste (CTRL + V) them into the required fields.

The dongle number and registration code must be entered 1:1 (upper and lower case sensitive!)

Now you can choose if the settings should be set for all users.

After you have clicked on [Yes] you get the information, that the individual settings for the users will get lost. If you want to go on, click on [Yes] again.

Please download the licence file of our homepage www.moveit.at in the download center under WestEuropean/Program Downloads/Licence files and Tools.

(ATTENTION: You must be registered and announced on our homepage) Close the program and start by double click the file „InstallLicence.exe“ the installation.

In the "Installer Language" window, choose the required language for the installation:

The "Welcome" window contains general information, which are important for the installation. After reading the information, continue by clicking on the button [Next].

In the following window „Update of license information“ insert the path to your ISS.exe.

To fully complete the installation, please click on the button [Finish].

By the first start (only new installation) of moveIT@ISS+ appears the following message:

Insert in the field „Name“ your company name. „Owner“ is 1. Confirm the message with [OK]

Now you can install your required master data and all available updates.

INFO:

Change server name, port to the database or a path, the software protection server becomes invalid and must be constructed new!
