Occupational and Experiential Credits
You can earn credits toward a bachelor’s degree for occupational courses you have taken, such as automotive technology and welding. Ask an admissions representative for a free transcript evaluation. You may be surprised how many credits you will receive toward your bachelor’s degree. You may also earn credit for experiential learning. Opportunities may include job-related activities, specialized training programs and national certification exams.
Test Credits
Davenport awards credit for passing scores on the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP), DSST (formerly known as DANTES), Advanced Placement and Credit by Exam programs. Many of these exams are offered on campus at Davenport University.
Military Experience Credits
Davenport, a Yellow Ribbon School, is a
Servicemembers Opportunity College, a consortium of colleges and universities dedicated to helping service members and their families get college
degrees. Davenport awards credit for non-traditional learning activities by evaluating military training and experience and recognizing standardized examination programs such as DSST and CLEP.

2. Provide unofficial transcripts of your credit hours for a preliminary evaluation.
3. Complete an application for admission and
pay the application fee at davenport.edu/apply.
4. Request official transcripts from colleges you previously attended and mail to:

5. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.gov. You may be eligible for a transfer scholarship up to $4,000 a year.
6. Once you meet admission requirements, you will be notified of your acceptance.
7. If you plan to attend and live on campus in Grand Rapids, complete a housing application.
8. Meet with a Davenport University advisor to schedule your classes.
