in the international economy, there is a steadily- growing demand for attorneys and managers who have a command of both legal and economic issues. despite this demand, few educational institutions offer programs of study that analyze the legal and economic fields in a targeted and integrated manner. in light of this demand, bucerius law school and wHu – otto beisheim school of management jointly offer the one-year, english-language master of law and business – joachim Herz pro-gram (“mlb propro-gram”), supported by the joachim Herz stiftung. the mlb is truly a “joint” degree, combining numerous aspects of international business law with issues of international management. because course participants are trained sys-tematically in both the legal and economic fields, they obtain a unique ability to analyze the ever-increasing number of international issues that involve both legal and economic elements. bucerius law school and wHu – otto beisheim school of management are ideal partners for such an innovative, international and practice-oriented program. they are recognized as leading institutions in germany and enjoy an excellent reputation worldwide. both schools are accredited.

tuition for the one-year program of stu-dies is € 22,000; fees, costs of accom-modation, course material, travel, etc. are extra. some scholarship assistance is available.

due to our rolling admissions process, early applications are strongly en couraged. The Program is particularly designed for graduates in law or business/economics and young professionals with some work experience. A limited number of gradu-ates who have other academic backgrounds but have a strong professional interest in legal and business questions is also welcome.
participants are carefully selected to create a dynamic and open-minded group from around the world, representing different cultures and approaches to legal and busi-ness questions. a particular emphasis is put on a lively exchange within the group. an application consists of the following:
• a completed application form • a CV
• a personal statement explaining why you wish to participate in the program • a writing sample, preferably business or legally-related
• official transcripts from your degree-granting academic institutions and a statement of class rank
• proof of your English language skills (TOEFL, IELTS or CPE) if your education has been conducted in a language other than english
