Title
:
“The Pro-Self Program:
Self Care Interventions to Reduce Patient Morbidity”
Dr. Marylin Dodd
Professor Emerita, School of Nursing
Director, Center for Symptom Management,
University of California, San Francisco, U.S.A.
Marylin Dodd, RN, PhD, FAAN has focused her research on people’s experience with symptom management. Symptoms are the most common reason people seek health care. They are a major problem for individuals and their families since their management and resulting outcomes are often their own responsibility. Many people wonder if their symptom management strategies are appropriate. This presentation will discuss the findings of a research program testing the Symptom Management Model. You will learn about nursing interventions to facilitate self-care practices of patients and families with cancer and other chronic conditions in a variety of settings.
Cette conférence a été rendue possible grâce à une subvention au CUSM, division de l’Hôpital général de Montréal par Pfizer Canada Inc.
The Pfizer Lectureship has been made possible by a grant to the MUHC, MGH Division by Pfizer Canada, Inc.
