What Faculty are Saying About

CAPA’s Custom Programs

“Working with CAPA for my Global Seminar

was fabulous! The CAPA staff went all out to

accommodate our needs. Student housing was

superb, as was mine. All details were taken care of,

from the informative and very helpful orientation

to the requested site visits, accompanying staff,

the most outstanding guest lectures, coordinating

the care of a sick student, suggestions and

arrangements for student travel, and the lovely

office and study rooms! My students were absolutely

delighted with their time in London, and I have CAPA

to thank for an extremely successful seminar.”

Dr. Simran Sahi

Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies, Economics Department University of Minnesota

“It is clear this program is truly a life changing

experience for our students. The great organization

at CAPA, including the extra opportunities outside

our curriculum, have been greatly appreciated by

the students and our faculty. Thank you for all you

do for our students!”

Dr. Anne Robertson

Professor, Engineering Department University of Pittsburgh

“One of the reasons I continue to take students

on a study abroad program is the support I receive

from CAPA. They are equipped to handle simple issues

to more complicated problems should they arise.

The support and attention to detail on the front end

from CAPA assures me that the students will be

prepared for their program.”

Dr. Larry Fauver

Associate Professor, Finance Department University of Tennessee

“I enjoy our collaboration with CAPA and find that

they are a top-notch institutional partner. Having

worked in the field of international education for a

number of years, I can attest to the importance of

working with a reliable, dependable, and creative

organization. I know that I can always count on them

to assist with any given facet of our programs, from

program development, recruitment, and marketing,

to logistics and onsite program support.”

Tonya Veltrop Director of Study Abroad

University of Missouri School of Journalism

“I led a study abroad program in Florence through

CAPA and was continually impressed by the

organization’s close guidance and resourcefulness

throughout the planning stages. CAPA saw us

through every detail of the trip, and accommodated

my teaching style and needs in order to give

students the most enriching experience possible,

including their exposure to several guest lecturers

who shared their professional and cultural

experiences on living and working in Florence.

CAPA arranged for an art historian to give our

students a guided tour of the building that housed

our classroom, so that even the time we spent in

class transported us through Florence’s history

and legacy of great art. CAPA constantly brings

a culture, its history, and its people into the

classroom; challenging our students to expand their

world experience and ensuring their comfort every

step of the way.”

Dr. Rachael Peckham

Associate Professor, English Department Marshall University

CAPA International Education is an international education organization (IEO) committed to empowering student learning through personal choice, academic integrity, and engagement in urban environments abroad. Our approach to international study is unique and provides a holistic learning abroad experience that challenges, excites, and inspires students like no other program can. Through our courses, the city becomes the laboratory in which the student conducts academic research. This collaborative and ultimately personalized approach has made CAPA International Education the trusted global leader since 1972.

CAPA successfully completed the Forum on Education Abroad’s QUIP review, with exceptionally high marks. The QUIP review program is designed to assess international education organizations (IEOs) through a process that involves both internal organizational self-study and external site reviews performed by independent professionals within the field of education abroad. CAPA has now joined a small, elite group of institutions and IEOs that have successfully completed this process. This acknowledgement further illustrates that CAPA’s academic programs have met the field’s highest standards and applies to all CAPA sites, as the review process considers each location carefully. Our commitment to these high standards is part of CAPA’s promise to our students and partnering institutions to create programs that are academically rigorous, culturally engaging, and accessible.
