This service will allow early childhood professionals, who are listed in our database, the opportunity to “check out” video tapes, DVD’s, books, and activity boxes/literacy activities. These resources will be available to enhance your current program.

We are in the process of compiling this information into a user friendly catalogue. This information will be easily accessed by way of our website. (www.ywca.org/rockford). Keep checking website for up-to-date information.

One in 3 girls and 1 in 6 boys experience sexual abuse/assault by age 18. This means that child care providers often interact with abuse victims in their care. This workshop will explore what providers may see in traumatized children, and how they can heal. This workshop will also discuss normal sexual development in children compared to sexual behaviors that should raise concerns.

The Level One Credential is the foundational part of a larger credentialing system. Modules 1, 2a, 2b and 2c are the four components to achieve Tier One for License Exempt providers. Module 1 is an overview of child development for children birth through school age. Module 2a focuses on proper handwashing techniques, diapering, stress, preventing illness, and cultural practices surrounding health care.
