From the airport to the accommodation:

Take the metro in the airport, line 8 (pink one) to Nuevos Ministerios.

In Nuevos Ministerios change to line number 6 (grey one) to Pacífico station.

In Pacífico station change to line number 1 (light blue one) to Antón Martín. This is the way you have to do only 2 changes.

By metro is the faster and easier way to reach the hostel from the airport. From train station Atocha to the accommodation:

Take the metro in the train station, line 1 (light blue one) to Antón Martín. But from Atocha train station you can go walking.

It’s very close.

Posada de Huertas & Cat's: Take the metro in Antón Martin or Tirso de Molina station, line 1 (light blue one) to Tribunal station, then change train to Line 10 (Dark blue) to Santiago Bernabeu. (exit: Azca)

Very Important: Transports during the night.

The city has efficient network of night transport that work during all the night so you can come back to the hostel by bus when you want. You can go in `búho´, buses that end and begin their line at Cibeles and the frequency depends on the day of the week, around 40 minutes from Sunday to Thursday and 20 minutes in Fridays´ and Saturdays nights.

HOW TO GO TO: from the party to the accommodation

If you are going to La Posada de Huertas or to Cat's you should take the N22 or N24 in one of the bus stations in Plaza de Lima (where the Santiago Bernabeu Station was). Make sure that the Bus is going to Cibeles. Once you are in Cibeles, you have to take another búho, the N26 to the bus stop Atocha-Leon:

Registration and Welcoming Reception: at 11:30 a.m

Registration for the ATHENS November Session at the Rectorado de la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Edificio A (av/Ramiro de Maeztu 7, Metro Station: Metropolitano, Exit: Gregorio del Amo).

You must look for the table with the number of your course and do the registration there. You will pay for the social Activities and Organizers will give you your welcome Pack.

Students have to pay for the European Dimension Activities fee:

25€ during registration.

11.30 a.m. Official Welcome to the ATHENS November 2015 Session, with the participation of UPM International Office and ATHENS Co-ordinator, co-ordinators and professors of the ATHENS session courses, together with the Students Delegates ("Team Leaders") in charge of the students-tutoring for the extra-academic activities.

12:30 am Visit to Madrid- City Rally

It is a game to make a first contact with the city and with other participants of the programme. All the participants, divided into groups, will enjoy a journey around the city of Madrid, playing games in some of the more famous points of the city. Don´t forget to bring your camera.

We will provide you the lunch during the City Rally.

Visit to the two most important museums in Madrid:

Visit to “Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía”, lunch at the Retiro Park and visit to “Museo Nacional del Prado”. You mustn’t take pics inside the museums.

We will provide you this day with the lunch (one or two sandwiches with a drink and a piece of fruit).

After lunch you have free time. We suggest you to spend some time visiting Retiro Park. The entrance to ¨Museo del Prado¨ after 17:00, it’s free for students. Don't forget your student card.

Meeting point 11:00 am, at the metro station Atocha and take the exit: Glorieta Emperador Carlos V.

HOW TO GO From the accommodation to Museo Reina Sofia if you miss the

meeting point

Posada & Cat's: Take the metro in the station Antón Martín or Tirso de Molina, line 1 (light blue one) to Atocha station. Atocha, not Atocha Renfe, ok?

You can use this option if you are very very tired after the Saturday night. But the easier and faster way is go by foot. Museo Reina Sofía is very, very close from La Posada de Huertas and Las Musas

You are not allowed to go inside the museum with your camera. You can leave it at the entrance of the museum.

Night Walk

The purpose of the Night Walk is to show you madrilian Night-life while taking a stroll through the most emblematic places in the centre of Madrid.

You will be split in groups, and people from BEST-UPM will pick you up at the Metro Station Opera (line2, the red one) at

20:30h

. The walk will take (more or less) one hour and a half (maybe 2 hours)

The meeting point is quite close from the hostel, you can go walking. In the map you can see the way to follow from the hostel “Posada de Huertas” which is near the hostel “Cat's”.
