If you’re interested in capturing extreme close-ups of flowers, insects or

other small objects, you need a lens that is designed to focus closer than

typical lenses do. Macro lenses are designed to focus extremely close

and get a pinpoint focus on a subject, set amongst a beautifully blurred

foreground and background.

An Ultra-Wide lens or Wide Zoom lens gives a unique perspective

that gets more in the picture. Effectively they are the exact opposite of

telephoto lenses. Nearby objects appear closer and distant objects

appear further away. By using an Ultra-Wide Lens, you can achieve the

look of sweeping skies .

Lenses for travel cover all focal lenghts and all speeds. When travelling

the most important feature is a lens that is compact and lightweight. Plus,

since you don’t want to carry a lot of different lenses, a lens with a wide

range of focal lenghts from wide to telephoto is most handy.

or 85mm and have a larger aperture like f/1.8 to give a shallow depth

of field. This combination of long lens and large aperture, (sometimes

you want a lens that is has a long focal length like a 200mm or more.

Nikon’s Close Range Correction System utilizes a “floating

lens element” providing superior picture quality at close

focusing distances. CRC system is used in fisheye,

wideangle, Micro, and selected medium telephoto

NIKKOR lenses.

By minimizing chromatic aberration ED glass delivers

stunning sharpness and contrast even at large apertures.

By correcting how colour focuses in a lens, these glass

elements provide the truest colour reproduction possible.

Optical Stabilizer

Hyper-Sonic Motor

Sigma makes their own optical glass and requires that their

lenses be analyzed by ultra-high definition sensors and

approved before leaving their factory. Strict quality control

insures the very highest quality lenses.

In order to attain the highest quality images, Sigma uses

Apochromatic lens elements, APO, which are made using

special low-dispersion (SLD) glass designed to minimize

colour aberration. These optics ensure accurate colour

and extraordinary sharpness.

Optical Image Stabilization, or OS, utilizes a

build-in mechanism that compensates for camera

shake which dramatically expands photographic

possibilities by alleviating camera movement when

shooting by hand held camera.

Sigma lenses with Hyper-Sonic Motor HSM, use a focusing

motor driven by ultrasonic waves to provide a quiet,

highspeed autofocus. Ver useful for quick and quiet

focusing when recording video with audio.
