Workshop 2: Efficiency Gains Through Process Standardization in Finance Shared Services Organizations
Today, nearly all finance shared service organizations have realized cost reduction through labor arbitrage and are now facing the challenge of implementing further efficiency gains. Process harmonization and stan-dardization, an optimized process split, and flawless automation are the key levers to get to the next level of maturity.
This workshop will familiarize you with the best practice process modeling method of the Business Transfor-mation Services group of SAP Consulting. It will give you practical insight into how process standardization and an optimized process split between shared and retained organizations can be achieved. With time built in for discussion and exchange of your experiences, the workshop is designed to be fully interactive. The workshop will close with customer examples drawn from our practice and an outlook on how SAP’s so-lutions can support your finance shared service processes and your targets to gain efficiency.

In this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to hear an overview, discuss their issues, and devel-op a set of conditions and prerequisites for an SAP Shared Service Framework software implementation. Scenarios will be developed based on a typical financial accounting organization and on the experiences of customers and participants.
The workshop is designed to be interactive, allowing all participants to feed in their experiences and lessons learned. Existing user cases will be presented to provide context for current challenges that you may be fac-ing, and to help to explain the different design and implementation variants of SAP Shared Service
Framework.
