About Us
Woodstock Baptist Church is a multi-generational church family meeting in traditional worship in Somerset, Kentucky.
We are affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, Kentucky Baptist Convention and the Pulaski Association of Baptists.
Distinctives
We identify ourselves in four distinct ways.
• We are a people of Purpose. Our purpose is to love the Lord our God with all that we are. (Deuteronomy 6:5) • We are a people of Mission. Our mission is to make disciples for Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:18-20)
• We are a people of Vision. Our vision is the adding of many who are saved to the Kingdom of God. (Acts 2:47)
• We are a people of Commitment. Our devotion is to scripture, fellowship, worship and prayer. (Acts 2:42)
Our Pastor
Pastor Donavon Burton
Pastor Donavon Burton accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior at the age of 7 in revival services at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church of Faubush, KY. Bro. Donavon was
pursuing a career as a high-school science teacher when the call to full-time
minis-try came. His surrender was followed by ordination into the gospel minisminis-try at First Baptist Church of Danville, KY.
Bro. Donavon has previously served churches in Lexington, KY and Bradfordsville, KY before accepting his second pastorate at Woodstock.
Bro. Donavon holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary
Educa-tion from the University of Kentucky and a Master’s of Divinity in Christian Ministry from the Southern Baptist
Theological Seminary. He is currently enrolled in Doctoral Studies at Southern Seminary with an emphasis
in Biblical Counseling.
Bro. Donavon serves with his wife Lisa, oldest son Ragan and youngest son Owen.
