Who would believe that a packaging system could provide so many new opportunities in fresh food production and distribution, and deliver so many operational advantages and

efficiencies to foodservice operators? With Cryovac’s 50 years’ experience in the develop-ment of flexible packaging materials and systems for fresh foods, you should.

We’ve been in the foodservice market for more than two decades and even pioneered the cook-chill process. We’ve leveraged that experience to create the next generation of foodservice packag-ing with vertical form-fill-and-seal packagpackag-ing systems for high volume food production — for both shelf stable and refrigerated fresh foods.

With our pouches, new and exciting food options are possible, options that can deliver chef-quality foods available to operators. Now great tasting dishes can be prepared that require little more than re-heating and plating, and have superior consistency and quality compared to heat-abused canned products.

Flexible packaging creates many advantages for food service operators through increased operational efficiencies when compared to cans and rigid containers.

• More efficient storage— flexible pouches occupy 40% less space. • Safer handling— there are no harmful,

jagged edges or shards. • More efficient labor— easy to open, easy

to dispense and easy to reheat pouches. • Greater cost effectiveness— virtually 100% product yield resulting in less waste. • Lower waste disposal costs — flexible pouches reduce the amount of trash

going into the waste stream.

All of this translates into our shared goal of delivering quality food products at a better value.

Throughout the world, we are working together with food proces-sors that are developing an almost limitless array of pumpable and pourable food products. Even those with particulates can be packaged and distributed efficiently in flexible pouches — and they’re available in sizes from six ounces to two gallons.

Imagine entire meals from flexible pouches allowing expanded menu offerings and more efficient operation management. Entrees like macaroni and cheese, beef stew and chicken broccoli alfredo.

Sides like chicken noodle soup, chili con carne, Hollandaise and Bearnaise sauces, mashed potatoes, gravy and sweet and sour soup.

Delicious salads and accompaniments like macaroni salad, chicken salad, cole slaw, sliced pickles in brine, olives, sour cream, yogurt, guacamole and salsa. Even a variety of juice concentrates is available in pouches.

Finish off with desserts made with ingredients like pie fillings, toppings, sauces, syrups and donut fillings.

We’ve also engineered a fitment option that turns the flexible pouch into part of an easy-to-use, sanitary, manual-dispensing system — ideal for mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise, toppings, sauces, syrups and salad dressings.
