Description

This counter measures the shutdown duration of all power supplying units (PSUs) in the base station within the measurement period.

Measurement Points

In a measurement period, the intelligent shutdown status of each PSU is sampled every second. When one or more PSUs are intelligently shut down, this counter is added by one.

Counters

Counter ID Counter Name Counter Description Network Element Applicable Mode 1593835628 VS.EnergyCons .BTS.Adding.U MTS The sum of power consumption of all boards in UMTS BTS3900, BTS3900 WCDMA U

Description

This counter provides the power consumption of the UMTS mode within the measurement period, which equals the sum of the power consumption of modules working in UMTS mode. In a single-mode base station, the value of this counter equals the base station power

consumption. In a multimode base station, the power consumption is measured based on the basis of the whole base station and the value of this counter is a part of the base station power consumption.

Measurement Points

The system samples the power consumption of each module every 5 minutes. The power consumption of the UMTS mode is calculated using the following formula: ([Power

(12)

[Number of local modes that use this module]. At the end of a measurement period, the sum of these calculated results of all involved modules equals to the UMTS power consumption and is used as the value of the counter. For example, for the WBBP board, the total power consumption of this board is used for calculating this counter. For a UCIU board in a separate-MPT GSM/ UMTS dual-mode base station, half of the power consumption of this board is used for calculating this counter.

Note: If a dual-mode BBU is powered by a digital power board (UPEUc or UPEUd), the power consumption of the local mode in this BBU is half of the BBU power consumption.

Description

This counter provides the power consumption of the UMTS mode within the measurement period. The value of this counter is calculated by using the power consumption measured by the power system. In a single-mode base station, the value of this counter equals the base station power consumption. In a multimode base station, the power system measures the power

consumption of the whole base station and the value of this counter is a part of the base station power consumption.

Measurement Points

The system samples the power consumption measured by the power system every 5 minutes. The power consumption of the UMTS mode is calculated using the following formula: ([Power consumption measured by a single power system]/[Number of main control boards that manage the power system])/Number of local modes. At the end of a measurement period, the sum of these calculated results equals to the UMTS power consumption and is used as the value of the counter.

Note: If the power consumption measured by a power system cannot be obtained, this part of power consumption is not included in the value of this counter. For example, when RRUs are powered by a third-party power system, the power consumption of these RRUs is not included in the value of this counter.

Measurement Points

The number of downlink CEs consumed by all cells in a baseband board is sampled every 30 seconds. At the end of a measurement period, the average number of downlink CEs consumed by a baseband board is obtained by dividing the accumulated value in the period by the number of samples. The maximum of these sampling results is defined as the maximum number of downlink CEs consumed by a baseband board, and the minimum of these sampling results is defined as the minimum number of downlink CEs consumed by a baseband board. The number of downlink CEs consumed by a baseband board includes the number of CEs consumed by common channels in a cell, and these CEs are not included in the VS.CE.DLAvailable.Board counter. Therefore, the number of downlink CEs consumed by a baseband board may be greater than the value of VS.CE.DLAvailable.Board.

After Uplink CoMP (Joint Reception) and HetNet Uplink CoMP(Joint Reception) are

introduced, the number of consumed uplink CEs in license groups includes the number of uplink CEs consumed by DCH users and HSUPA users and the number of CEs consumed by

coordinating links for UL CoMP (joint reception) users in the local license group.

UL CoMP (joint reception) user: Users using Uplink CoMP (Joint Reception) or HetNet Uplink CoMP(Joint Reception) to receive signals on the NodeB side.

Coordinating link: Link specifically established by the NodeB for UL CoMP (joint reception) users. The link is transparent to the RNC and UEs.

Description

This counter measures the average and maximum number of UL CEs consumed by UL coordinating links on the baseband board. The measurement results show how the CEs are additionally consumed after the UL CoMP feature has been enabled. The consumption can be assessed using the ratio of UL CEs consumed by UL coordinating links on the baseband board to those of other links.

Remarks:

UL CoMP (joint reception) user: Users using Uplink CoMP (Joint Reception) or HetNet Uplink CoMP(Joint Reception) to receive signals on the NodeB side.

Coordinating link: Link specifically established by the NodeB for UL CoMP (joint reception) users. The link is transparent to the RNC and UEs.

Measurement Points

The number of UL CEs consumed by UL coordinating links on the baseband board is sampled every 30 seconds. At the end of a measurement period, the average number of UL CEs consumed by UL coordinating links on the baseband board is obtained by dividing the accumulated value within the measurement by the number of samples. The maximum value within the measurement period is the maximum number of UL CEs consumed by UL coordinating links on the baseband board.

Description

The counter measures the maximum and average CPU usage of the LMPT, UMPT and LBBP within a measurement period. The value type of these counters is integer and the results are in round numbers. For example, if the result is 0%, the actual value ranges from 0.00% to 0.99%. Disuse Statement:

In the current version, either counter 1526727013 VS.Board.CPUload.Max or the 1593835632 VS.BBUBoard.CPULoad.Max counter is used, or they can both be used. The reported value of counter 1526727013 VS.Board.CPUload.Max is normal but counter 1526727013

VS.Board.CPUload.Max is not recommended for use. In a later version, only the 1593835632 VS.BBUBoard.CPUload.Max counter is used.

In the current version, either counter 1526727014 VS.Board.CPUload.Mean or the 1593835633 VS.BBUBoard.CPUload.Mean counter is used, or they can both be used. The reported value of counter 1526727014 VS.Board.CPUload.Mean is normal but counter 1526727014

VS.Board.CPUload.Mean is not recommended for use. In a later version, only the 1593835633 VS.BBUBoard.CPUload.Mean counter is used.

Measurement Points

The CPU usage is sampled every second, and the average CPU usage of each 5s is used as the sampling result. The maximum or the average of the final sampling results is used as the value of this counter. For example, if the number of times that the average CPU usage exceeds the preconfigured threshold in the measurement period is X1, X2, X3, ..., and Xn, the values of the VS.BBUBoard.CPUload.Max and VS.BBUBoard.CPUload.Mean counters are calculated using the following formulae: VS.BBUBoard.CPUload.Max = MAX(Xi),

VS.BBUBoard.CPUload.Mean =(X1+X2+...+Xn)/n.

Number of Times that the CPU Usage of Boards Exceeds the Preconfigured Threshold BTS3900 LTE L

Description

The counter measures the number of times that the CPU usage of the LMPT, UMPT and the LBBP exceeds the preconfigured threshold. It indicates the load status of boards during a measurement period.

Disuse Statement:

In the current version, either counter 1526728332

The reported value of counter 1526728332 VS.Board.CPULoad.CumulativeHighloadCount is normal but counter 1526728332 VS.Board.CPULoad.CumulativeHighloadCount is not recommended for use. In a later version, only the 1593835630

VS.BBUBoard.CPULoad.CumulativeHighloadCount counter is used.

Measurement Points

The CPU usage is sampled every second, and the average CPU usage of each 5s is used as the sampling result. The percentage of the period during which the CPU usage of a board exceeds the preconfigured threshold to the entire measurement period is used as the value of this counter. The preconfigured threshold is 85%.
