1.0 GENERAL PLUMBING REQUIREMENTS :

Plumbing systems directly affect the health and safety of the public and thus they are distinguished from other piping systems by the following general requirements :

1. The design, materials and installation of the systems are directly regulated by a plumbing code. 2. System design must be approved by an authorised code official charged with the responsibility of ensuring plumbing code compliance.

3. A permit for installation of the systems must be obtained from the authority having jurisdiction. 4. The systems shall be installed by an individual duly licensed by the authority having jurisdiction for determining the competence of an individual to obtain a plumbing installation license. This may not be required in some jurisdictions.

5. The installed systems are required to be inspected and approved by an authorised code official charged with the responsibility of code enforcement.

2.0 PLUMBING REQUIREMENT FOR CEBU POWER PLANT :

For the CEBU Project, the instantaneous Plumbing Requirement for various buildings is provided from the Potable water distribution header.

All Potable water shall be supplied from Potable Water Pump (P0HGB10AP001, P0HGB20AP001) ( Reference P&ID Dwg. No. : CEBU-P0-11-D-0013 )

The estimation of water demand for various buildings has been done in accordance with the National Plumbing Codes Handbook Second Edition

The instantaneous plumbing requirement is estimated for the following buildings : a) Administration Building

b) Control Building c) ESP/Ash Control House d) Hypochlorination Building e) Main Guard House f) Main Warehouse g) Second Guard House h) Sewage Treatment System

i) Water/Waste water Treatment Building 3.0 DEFINITION OF THE TERMS USED : Plumbing fixture :

A plumbing fixture is any approved receptacle specifically designed to receive human and other waterborne waste and discharge that waste directly into the sanitary drainage system, usually with the addition of water.

Fixture units :

The fixture unit (FU) is an arbitrary, comparative value assigned to a specific plumbing fixture, device, or piece of equipment. FU values represent the probable flow that the concerned fixture will discharge into a drainage system or use (demand) from a potable water supply system, compared to other fixtures.
