(1)1 9 59. 2017. Hunts Kart Racing Club ESTABLISHED SINCE 1959. APRIL 2017 WELCOME TO ALL COMPETITORS AND SUPPORTERS OF HUNTS KART RACING CLUB. This weekend Hunts Kart Racing Club are pleased to be hosting round FOUR of the HKRC 2017 Club Championship, which is the fourth race weekend of 2017 season. For the 2017 there are 10 Championship rounds with 9 to count. SUMMER FORMAT this weekend with start time of 10am on track. From APRIL until OCTOBER both practice and race day will start at 10am HKRC will still work hard to utilize as much track time for everyone over the race weekend delivery value for money. 2017 MEMBERSHIP PACKS AND 2017 RACE CALENDERS ARE AVAILABLE FOR COLLECTION IN RACE CONTROL. After a period keeping the charges static over the past two years , for 2017 and increase in both practice and race fees have had to be applied. This is a tough decision for the club, but escalating costs to operate a meeting have increased. Thank you for your understanding Please ensure you have read and understand the supplementary regulations for 2017. These are posted in race control and the website which are available on the HKRC website and race entry forms. REMINDER- access to the track after on during Friday set up and after practice and racing has finished is now not permitted . This will in force until MAY 2017. TYRE DISPOSAL MARCH MEETING- There were a number of tyres found thrown in the tree line and place at the bottom of the waste bins around the site and even blatantly left on a pit bay if anyone is found responsible for irresponsible DISPOSAL THEY WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE CIRCUIT. PLEASE TAKE YOUR TYRES HOME WITH YOU!! During the weekend HKRC Officials will be walking around the paddock checking on tyre disposal. HKRC will dispose of tyres for a cost of £3 per set of tyres. PLEASE take your used tyres home with you ! GRID and PARC FERME /MEMBERSHIP PASSES are to be used when entering the assembly and grid or Parc Ferme areas. Only mechanics with passes will be permitted into these areas. ONE PASS per driver to be given to the mechanic. Wrist bands will be provided for non-club members on the band will be issued. Use of GALLERY - No under 16’s are permitted onto the gallery and only mechanics with passes are permitted to use this area and smoking is not permitted. Anyone that are seen not to abide by these rules will not be permitted to return to the gallery for the race weekend. (2) for mechanics and spectator vehicles only. There is an area that can be used for camping at the far end of the site Any competitor parking deemed not to be appropriate will be asked to move. AND IF SAFE ACCESS to SITE and PADDOCK is compromised for emergency services if required then the meeting will have to be stopped. VACANT PIT BAYS can be rented for £20 per weekend, please visit race control for availability. If anyone is parked on a bay that has not be hired, then they will be asked to move or Pay for Hire if the bay is not to be used for the weekend. 2017 PITBAY REQUESTS are now being taken, Existing bay holders have first opportunity to retain for the following season. ON -LINE pit bay booking is available by clicking on the pit bay tab on the HKRC HOME PAGE which is available after the race entry closing date. There is FREE pit bay space on the around STOW CORNER AND WILLOWS side of the track. ALL PITBAY holders issued with a permit must display to enable the Club to ensure that competitors are parked in their correct bays. The permits will be handed out by HKRC officials or can be collected in race control over the race weekend. Pit bay enquires must be sent via email to vicehkrc@hotmail.com No Parking in unallocated pit bays, you will be asked to move.. RACE WEEKEND UPDATES FOR MAY AND JUNE 2017. 2. • May race weekend for 2017 is the east anglian trophy weekend which will be run over two days. Friday practice has been cancelled for this year. Circuit one will be used only. Hkrc are pleased to be hosting round 2 of the super 4 125 & 250 gearbox classes. The weekend will comprise of practice and. heats on saturday with heats, pre final and grand final for the sunday. The weekend will be a . combined eatm and round 5 of the 2017 hkrc club championship. • June race weekend for 2017 is the lgm round for x30 and iame cadet kart classes. Circuit one will be used throughout the weekend. Hkrc will be accepting entries from honda and tkm to practice and race over the weekend for a non club points round. Trophies will still be awarded.. NO DOGS are permitted to be walked on the circuit, only on the other side of the tree line upon entering the site. SHOWERS Due to the showers being damaged over the past two months they will not be available during the day and will only be opened for a limited amount of time in the evening after racing and first thing in the morning. (3) 2017 IMPORTANT NOTICES • On track driver warnings will be displayed by the digiflag sited above the start/finish line gantry. Any driver not observing this warning may be excluded from the race. • Water cooled engines can have tape or covers added but are not to be altered or removed during the race. • HKRC official signs that are posted around the site are to be adhered to. Anyone found to disregard the sin content may be excluded from the meeting • HKRC will not accept competitors to become a HKRC member after October of the race season. • HKRC scrutineers reserve the right to parc ferme tyres from any chosen class during the race meeting. When requested drivers arrive at the assembly area two races prior to their race to enable tyres/rims to be bolted to the kart. • Regulation 18 amended- Grid positions for the final is determined by the combined heat/ qualifying results. In the event of tied points awarded then the highest grid position will be decided by the highest position achieved first. First highest time may also be used if points are tied. In the event that the finals cannot be completed the results and championship points are determined on the calculated grid position for the final. (5) 1 9 59. 2017. Hunts Kart Racing Club Championships Round 3 Sunday 12th March 2017 Round Up The weather seems to conspire against Hunts Kart Racing Club’s 2017 championships! It was another wet Sunday for the third round and whilst the rain held off for the finals, wet tyres were required throughout the day. Around 100 drivers braved the conditions and were rewarded with timed qualifying, two eight minute heats and twelve minute finals. Final 1 - IAME Cadet A small field started this race, but as last month, provided the closest final of the afternoon. Rashan Chigorimbo secured pole this month and took advantage to lead Sam Shaw as the two of them pulled away from the rest. Shaw was always in Chigirimbo’s wheel tracks and when the leader went wide exiting Dan Wheldon corner on lap 11, Shaw nipped past. It looked like Shaw had built up sufficient of a gap, but on the last lap Chigorimbo retook the lead and held on to win by a nosecone. After Harry Pears was forced to retire with mechanical failure, Ryan Ward and Micah Taylor battled over third, which Ward eventually secured comfortably. Unfortunately for Shaw, he was adjudged to have been driving in a manner incompatible with general safety and was excluded from the results. This promoted Ward and Taylor to the podium. 1st – Rashan Chigorimbo 2nd – Ryan Ward 3rd – Micah Taylor Final 2 - TKM Extreme Matthew Ayres was once again in commanding form. Not even a period running under the Battenberg flag could stop him running away from the rest. The flag was deployed after Joe Scorey and Owain Rosser had a coming together existing Kestrel which left Scorey in the tyres and Rosser facing a black flag. Michael Cornell suffered difficult restart after the Battenberg period, which saw him fall behind Matthew Allnutt for a couple of laps.. 1st - Matthew Ayres 2nd – Michael Cornell 3rd – Matthew Allnutt. (6) Final 3 - X30 Junior X30 Junior saw Reggie Duhy come out on top. Oliver Mourant had pole and led for the first four laps, as Duhy nibbled away at his early advantage. On lap 5, Duhy made his move and the pair exited Stow side by side. There was some contact which Duhy came out best from. Mourant saw Thomas Byrne take advantage of the situation to snatch second. From thereon, the gaps between the three drivers grew with Duhy winning by a second and a half from Byrne. Mourant was one of the drivers to receive the mandatory penalty for a dropped nosecone, so was only classified eighth. Brodie Rivers benefitted.. 1st – Reggie Duhy 2nd – 2nd – Thomas Byrne 3rd – Brodie Rivers Final 4 - Honda Cadet Joshua Patterson lead from start to finish. Jake Genovese kept ahead of Matthew Hyde until the very last lap when Hyde made a decisive overtake into Stow. Jack Plant had been in fourth early on, but spun at Stow. He recovered to eventually finish sixth.. 1st – Joshua Patterson 2nd – Matthew Hyde 3rd – Jake Genovese. 6. Final 5 - X30 Senior When Dan Stilp hung back at the start, Roman Haskett got away but Stilp was able to power round Stow into the lead. Next time round, Stilp and Haskett tagged each other at Stow and Stilp dropped down the order. On lap 5, when Liam Ferguson went to pass Shea Pearce, Owen Byatt got past both. Ferguson set about challenging Byatt, secured second, and was eating into Haskett’s lead until he hit a problem. He lost out to Byatt, but managed to retain third place. X30 Senior: 1st – Roman Haskett. 2nd – Owen Byatt. 3rd - Liam Ferguson. Final 6 - Junior TKM In Junior TKM, Theo Hesketh had another straightforward race, leading from start to finish. Novice Oliver Richardson did a sterling job in the first ten laps, but Theo Edgerton eventually forced his way into second. Junior TKM 1st – Theo Hesketh. 2nd – Theo Edgerton. 3rd – Oliver Richardson. Final 7 - X30 Mini Georgi Dimitrov was totally dominant, winning by over nine seconds. Tom Lebbon survived a strong challenge from Ben Cochran, the pair crossing the line in that order. Unfortunately, Cochran dislodged his nosecone trying to secure second and so Joel Wren was classified third. X30 Mini: 1st – Georgi Dimitrov 2nd – Tom Lebbon.
