This gives Saunders graduates the ability to differentiate themselves successfully, within a crowded job market.

Plus, with strong corporate connections built through a strong tradition of cooperative education, Saunders delivers an applied curriculum that prepares students to be career-ready upon graduation. The result–a perfect match for employers and a 94% placement rate.

MISSION

Saunders College of Business attracts enterprising students who are able to explore their passions and curiosity while applying business concepts to their personal interests. By using an elective, minor, or concentration, students complement their business education through course offerings at any of the 9 RIT colleges that are nationally recognized in technology, arts, and design. This allows students to develop a unique personal brand that stands out in the job market upon graduation, while creating tomorrow’s businesses and careers.

By design, Saunders is built to give students the attention and guidance they need throughout their program. The largest classroom at Saunders seats only 40 students, guaranteeing small class sizes. With low student-to-faculty ratios, our faculty is highly accessible and committed to the personal success of each student. Plus, all classes are taught by faculty members. Each student also gets a dedicated team of advisors including: academic, career, financial aid, and a faculty advisor.

driving business success and invention

To advance, successful companies demand the same innovative and entrepreneurial thinking that is creating tomorrow’s businesses.

On the first day of classes, undergraduate business students are immersed in Biz 1-2, which is a one-of-a-kind program where they build businesses from conception to commercialization. The two-semester program strengthens enterprising mindsets. Strong bonds are established among classmates during this cohort program, contrasting favorably to other business school freshman experiences where first-year schedules often fill up with general education requirements.

Ranked as the #1 student incubator in the USA, the Albert J. Simone Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship enhances innovation and entrepreneurship activities on RIT's campus. Created to help students learn as they advance and realize their own ideas and projects, the Simone Center enables students to bring their business ideas to life. Resources include Saunders Summer Start-up; RIT IdeaLab; RIT Entrepreneurship Scholars student residential community; and The Construct makerspace for rapid prototyping, featuring 3D modeling.

Venture Creations incubator at RIT is home to Saunders Student Consulting and over 20 mid-seed high-tech companies. This includes businesses that started as student projects and have graduated beyond the startup phase; these businesses are working to expand and attract investment.
