Mike Hogan, CIC

A nationally renowned "financial" expert, Mike has a broad knowledge of insurance and risk management issues for financial institutions. Well regarded in both the insurance and financial industry; he is known for:

 Teaching national continuing education programs

 Speaking to bank associations and other agent associations

 Authoring articles, newsletters and whitepapers addressing complex insurance and financial subjects.

Mike's primary focus is on Executive Liability, Professional Liability, Trust Operations Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Fiduciary Liability, Fidelity Bond, Computer Crime and Internet/Website e-risk Insurance.

Career Highlights

Mike has 35 years experience as an underwriter, managing general agent, wholesale insurance intermediary, retail agent, teacher, and consultant for the financial services industry. During the past 30 years, he has taught and led in excess of 100 "Financial Institution Seminars" specifically focused on identifying, managing, and insuring risks for the benefit of both insurance agents and financial institution management.

Hands On Assistance

Mike publishes articles and newsletters on risk issues for financial institutions and makes them available to U.S. Risk's national network of retail agent partners.

He provides highly regarded, comprehensive insurance reviews and risk analyses through our agent partners for their financial clients.

He maintains a strong, direct relationship with senior underwriters at most major insurance companies that provide specific insurance products for this complex industry.

Mike also renders assistance to agents whose financial institution clients have encountered difficulty in purchasing critical insurance.

He participates in conference calls and/or personal meetings with agents and managers of financial institutions on a wide variety of insurance, risk management and claims issues.

Tom Havens,

ARM, RPLU, CPCU, AFSB, J.D.

Thomas (Tom) Havens, Underwriter for U.S. Risk Financial Services, Inc., received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Boston College in 1981 and Law degree (J.D.) from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, San Diego, California in 1990.

Tom has spent his 27-year career focused solely on the underwriting, risk management, and marketing of Bond, D&O, Professional and insurance products and services for financial institutions. Before coming onboard with U.S. Risk Financial Services, Tom has worked exclusively for major financial institution insurance carriers including Fidelity & Deposit Company of Maryland and Zurich Financial Services.

In addition to marketing and underwriting a new Lloyd’s distressed bank program for U.S. Risk, Tom will be working directly with Mike Hogan and his staff offering brokerage services, and risk consulting services to the financial institution industry.
