CALL TO CONFESSION

UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Sovereign God, we confess that we are not ready for your holy realm. You guide us toward right paths, but we refuse to follow where you lead. You love and feed and care for us, but we fail to love and serve others. Forgive us, merciful God, so that we many return to your fold and rejoice in your presence, through Jesus Christ our Lord, the Lamb upon the throne. Amen.

INFORMATION ON THANK OFFERING SUNDAY

In 1888, when Eliza Clokey of Springfield, Ohio, urged each woman to give one dollar over and above her usual contribution to the Women’s General Missionary Society of the United Presbyterian Church of North America as a “thank offering to her Lord”, women responded and the Thank Offering was born. Women gave sacrificially and were credited with saving the worldwide missionary movement of the church at that time. Since 1888, Presbyterian Women has granted more than $26 million to nearly 1,700 different projects worldwide through the Thank Offering.

UPCOMING EVENTS/ANNOUNCEMENTS

Office News - Please keep in mind the deadlines for upcoming communications: Epistle Deadline: Wednesday at Noon

Bulletin Deadline: Wednesday at Noon

December Connections Newsletter Deadline: Wednesday, November 18.

Please send information to crossroadspresbyterian@verizon.net.or call 412-372-2226. The email account and telephone messages are checked several times a day.

Administrative Support - Cross Roads is in the process of modernizing its administrative systems (e.g., Office 365, Microsoft Teams, networked computers, telephones), which will allow staff and committee volunteers to collaborate on projects, share information and meeting minutes and access calendars. We recognize that these changes will take some getting used to, but when implemented, these new tools will provide secure cloud storage for documents, cut down on the amount of copies we make and aid us in sharing information. In the interim, all committee chairs and

volunteers should email documents directly to the people who need the information. If any committees need a Zoom meeting scheduled, please contact Dominic Zappa at zap0726@yahoo.com.

Pastoral Emergency – If you have a pastoral emergency please contact the Moderator of the Deacons, Betsy Hughes at 412-478-9617.
