Application Fee

A non-refundable fee of $75 in U.S. funds, payable to Antioch University Midwest, should accompany all applica- tions.

Educational Goals Statement

Refer to the instructions on completing your educational goals statement.

Transcripts

from all colleges and universities previously attended. Include transcripts for programs for which no degree was awarded. (Students of the Teacher Licensure program will not be required to provide new official transcripts for all which had previously been received in support of that application. See your enrollment services officer for details.) Transcripts should be sent directly from the institution to the address below. Indicate the name of the program to which you are applying. If you attended a college or university outside the U.S., please check with the Office of Student Services. Alert the Office of Student Services of any transcripts in a former name.

The resume should include both educational and professional background and any volunteer or certificate training programs, especially as they relate to the teaching field.

M.Ed. in Educational Leadership Admissions Procedures

To be considered an applicant for the M.Ed. program you must clearly demonstrate, through the submission of documenta- tion, the following qualifications:

• An earned baccalaureate or professional degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

• A minimum of 2.5 cumulative grade point average in all undergraduate work

• A minimum of 3.0 cumulative grade point average in all previous relevant graduate work.

• Recommended you hold a valid Ohio teaching certificate and/or license.

• Recommended two-years teaching experience.

• A math, writing, reading, critical thinking and literacy skills assessment (see below), conducted by Antioch University Midwest Teacher Education Program. Important: Your file will not be routed to the Education Admissions Committee for consideration until you have completed your assessments so please call soon to reserve the earliest date. The assessment, while part of the applications process, is used as a tool to assess your skill level. The assessments are factored into your overall application results, but will not be the determining factor of your admissions.

The M.Ed. in Educational Leadership admits students to the program twice a year, in the Fall and Summer quarters. Refer to the application, enclosed, for a listing of the required credentials for application to the program.

Ohio Principal Licensure Admissions Procedures

To be considered an applicant for the Principal Licensure program you must clearly demonstrate, through the submission of documentation, the following qualifications:

• A minimum of a 2.5 gpa /3.0 gpa in all previous graduate work.

• A current teaching certificate /license.

• An earned master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

• Candidates must meet state requirements for licensure.

• A math, writing, reading, critical thinking and literacy skills assessment (see below), conducted by Antioch University Midwest Teacher Education Program. Important: Your file will not be routed to the Education Admissions Committee for consideration until you have completed your assessments so please call soon to reserve the earliest date. The assessment, while part of the applications process, is used as a tool to assess your skill level. The assessments are factored into your overall application results, but will not be the determining factor of your admissions.

The Principal Licensure Program admits students to either the Early Middle Childhood or Adolescent Young Adult program in Winter and Summer quarter only. Refer to the application, enclosed, for a detailed listing of the required credentials for submitting your application to the program.

Below are the four tenets from the Antioch University Midwest School of Education Conceptual Framework, which charac- terizes our education programs.

Please select two to three of the tenets and write a goal statement in which you:

1. discuss your personal responses to those elements you chose and;

2. share your thoughts about how they are reflected in your future professional practice as a teacher

Your statement should be electronically produced or typed and included in the packet of material you send to the Office of Student Services. Goal statements should be three to four pages in length, written in first person ("I statements") and double- spaced.
