What will you learn?
On completion of CTA1 Foundations, you will be able to:
complete simple tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts and companies
identify and apply relevant tax legislation and guidelines in common circumstances
complete PAYG and BAS statements in order to register as a BAS agent interpret the tax consequences of
business structures understand the compliance
responsibilities of a tax agent calculate and explain the impact of
CGT and GST on individuals and businesses.

The career opportunities following the CTA1 Foundations include, but are not limited to: accountant bookkeeper/BAS Agent cadet/graduate/trainee accountant consultant
Graduate Diploma
of Applied Tax Law
The Graduate Diploma of Applied Tax Law utilises the experience of working tax practitioners to equip you with practical skills that can be immediately applied in the workplace. It will allow you to establish a competitive edge in your career and take on the tasks now required of tax professionals. It is made up of 6 subjects, one of which is the CTA1 Foundations. If you enrol in a single subject you may receive an exemption if you choose to study the Graduate Diploma at a later date.
