MISSON

To uphold the principles of the Constitution of the United States.

To promote the goals and objectives of all veteran organizations for the common good; and the welfare of active and veteran personnel of all the Uniformed Services, as well as their dependents and survivors.

To foster and support the exchange of information and ideas among all veteran organizations in order to provide better service to veterans and their families.

ABOUT

The Fox Valley Veterans Council, Inc. (FVVC) is organized in accordance with the general Non-Profi t Corporation Law of the State of Wisconsin, and is located in

Outagamie County with monthly meetings held in Appleton, WI. The FVVC is comprised of 22 veteran service organizations representing over 5,000 member-veterans in the Fox Valley area.

The purpose of the FVVC is to provide a central forum within the Fox Valley area to disseminate veteran information between veteran organizations and support veteran activities for the common good and welfare of all veterans.

The council works to create awareness of the issues faced by veterans; provides support to veterans and military families in the community; and provides a forum for veterans to provide feedback on issues that affect their lives.

PRESIDENT’S EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Fox Valley Veterans Council, Inc. (FVVC) is a 501c3 charitable organization that serves the needs of veterans who are currently serving or have served in the US Military, and veteran families in the Fox Cities area. The FVVC works to provide the opportunity for veteran member organizations to share information that is benefi cial to the common good and welfare of all veterans. In addition, the FVVC manages both a Veterans Memorial to honor local veterans, and a Veterans Emergency Fund to help local veterans in need.

The FVVC continues to grow by adding more members each year. There are currently 22 veteran service organizations that make up the FVVC. We continue to meet on the second Tuesday of the month at American National Bank Fox Cities, where we share a wealth of information about programs, events and resources for veterans in the

community. We encourage guests and guest speakers to attend meetings and share pertinent information with the group.

The Veterans Memorial in the old Outagamie County Courthouse (pictured on page 7) is maintained and updated by the FVVC. We hold an Annual Memorial Day Ceremony to honor those who gave their lives while serving our country. The FVVC Memorial

Committee partnered with Appleton North High School for the second year, to develop Memorial Day programs, and to provide students with an opportunity to learn more about the sacrifi ce and service of our military.

The Veterans Emergency Fund has become a large focus of the FVVC. We partner with American National Bank Fox Cities, receiving donations through their SAVE4VETS program, as well as various marketing support. Additionally, the Fund receives donations from its member veteran service organizations, community organizations, foundations, grants, individuals and fundraising events. Veterans can apply for

temporary fi nancial assistance at www.americannationalbank.org/vets or at their County Veterans Service Offi ce. The FVVC Veterans Emergency Fund Committee verifi es veteran status, reviews copies of bills submitted for assistance consideration, and contacts creditors to verify debts. Financial assistance is paid directly to creditors. In 2012, the Committee approved and provided funds for 68 veteran applicants in the Fox Valley.

The FVVC continues to look for opportunities to further promote its presence in the community, and its ability to benefi t area veterans through partnerships and events. In July of 2012, we partnered with the Timber Rattlers baseball organization to host a fundraising event—Military Appreciation Day—for area veterans, service members and their families. We plan to build on the success of this fundraising event and continue this on an annual basis. Also, the FVVC worked with students from Appleton North High School on a fundraising talent show and the Stone Yard Bar held a fundraising event during the Army-Navy game this year. We plan to make both of these fundraisers an annual event.

A very big THANK YOU to everyone who has contributed in one way or another to help the FVVC achieve our goals. We are positioned to expand our capabilities in 2013 through the continued support of our membership and community partners.
