The Software XENTRY Control supplies basic functions for
handling and administration of XENTRY Connect
XENTRY Control
XENTRY Control is the software for displaying the applications which run on XENTRY Connect. It serves as a “bridge” between the applications and their operation by the user.
• Administration of the XENTRY Connect in the network in order to select, connect und disconnect different XENTRY Connect
• Providing the user interface of the XENTRY Connect • Providing new use cases, such as:
• Stand-alone diagnosis or ECU-programming • Remote support of colleagues
• Visualization of XENTRY Connect status information, such as:
• Charge of battery
• Status of network connection • Status of vehicle connection
Free (green): The XENTRY Connect is configured and ready for
use; there are no existing connections to the XENTRY Connect.
Not connected (yellow): There is currently no connection to the
XENTRY Connect. However, the last user with an active connection has an exclusive user session in progress, to which only he or she can re-establish a connection.

•Workshops receive a Blu-ray Disk (BD) every two months. The update will be started directly from the BD-drive at the XENTRY Connect.
•Every update cleanses and resets the system and hereby removes possible system errors (update and recovery are the same process)
•User-specific data (user account, language, etc.) remain unaffected after the update
In the future XENTRY Connect will be updated every 2 months
via an Image. XENTRY Tab will be updated when necessary
Update-concept XENTRY Connect
•Daimler specific software (like XENTRY Control) will be installed after receiveing the new XENTRY Tab. After this first installation, this software will only be updated if necessary (no periodic update DVD)
•The workshop is responsible for the update of the operating system and virus scanner on the XENTRY Tab
For Update and Recovery of XENTRY Kit you can use the
UpdateAssist.

The user can start the
UpdateAssist by clicking on the link on the desktop of XENTRY Tab/Standard-PC.
On the start-screen you can decide for which component you want to make the update or recovery. The UpdateAssist explains the required steps.

Connect the BD-drive with both USB connectors to the XENTRY Connect.
Start the update-process with the key combination <red cross> and <green check mark>.
Update-procedure starts.
The successfull completion of the update-process will be shown in the XENTRY Connect display.

A number of conditions have been defined to ensure a smooth
transition from the previous to the new product concept

• Theft replacement orders and additional requirements for newly opened workshops can be processed using Star Diagnosis compact4 systems
