This program offers a variety of classes that prepare an individual for future successful employment in the food service industry and features traditional classes complimented by professional cooking activities in a kitchen environment. The following information is provided to assist students in selecting hospitality classes. All offered classes that reflect a stem identifier such as CHEF, HAMG, PSTR, RSTO, and TRVM are accredited courses that relate directly to food service industry operations. Registration Process for Active Duty Military Via GoArmyEd

Step 1: Go to CTC bldg. 3201 on Battalion Ave & 72nd Street and visit with a Central Texas College Counselor to obtain a catalogue, receive degree plan advising, and other school-related information.

Step 2: Go to the Army Education Center, bldg. 33009, second floor, and attend a GoArmyEd briefing. Obtain your GoArmyEd user login and password.

Step 3: During your briefing you will research college program options, integrated course schedules, and fill out the common application. Step 4: Receive your annual SOU, have it signed by your commander (for SSG and below), and turn it in to an Army Education Counselor.

Discuss your educational option with an Army Education Counselor.

Step 5: Select CTC as your home school, choose a degree plan and request your college, high school, and AARTS transcripts to be sent to: Central Texas College, P.O. Box 1800, Killeen, TX 76540-1800, Attn: Incoming Transcripts

Step 6: CTC will send an e-mail informing you of your admission status.

Step 7: Once admitted, select a course listed in your degree plan and see a CTC counselor for assistance with the registration process.

Step 8: Upon receipt of enrollment confirmation, purchase your book (automatically sent for eArmyU students). Book information is available on the Class Details tab on the portal.

Step 9: Make sure you know your classroom location. Classes are taught in the Soldier Development Center, bldg. 33009, and in the CTC Building 3200 & 3201.

Registration Process for Civilians

Central Texas College-Fort Hood Campus also welcomes civilian students. Information about admission and registration is available in the Central Campus Catalog.

Online Courses & CD ROM Courses

A variety of online, self-paced, blended, and multimedia courses are offered. The courses are between 8 and 16 weeks long. Students can complete degree programs online or combine online courses with classroom courses. The courses are available to active duty, retired military, and civilians. CTC is one of the major GoArmyEd partners. For more information visit our website at http://online.ctcd.edu.

BSEP Program

This program consists of instruction in reading and/or math to improve the soldier’s academic foundation and GT score to qualify for reclassification. It is an open entry/ exit program and classes are taught during duty hours. For more information contact the BSEP Office, (254) 287-4292

Soldier Development Center

The academic courses offered by Central Texas College lay the foundation for continued work toward a bachelor’s degree. The following universities offer upper level (junior and senior) requirements for those working toward bachelor degrees in business, sociology and education. Classes will be offered in the Soldier Development Center, Bldg 33009 on 761st Tank Bn. Ave. & 72nd St. Classes are open to active duty, family members and civilians. Withdrawal Policy

If you withdraw or drop a class for any reason, you must see a CTC counselor and, if receiving Army Tuition Assistance, see an Army Education counselor or call 287-4824. The last day to withdraw is September 23, 2011. Failure to follow these procedures may cause you to receive an “F” for non-attendance and obligate you to repay any tuition assistance received from the Army to pay for the course.

Tuition: $59 Resident in-district (per semester credit hour) Tuition: $76 Resident out-of-district (per semester credit hour) Tuition: $175 Nonresident (per semester credit hour) Late Registration Fee: $10 (August 15-18, 2011)

Schedule Change Fee: $5 Last day to drop August 22, 2011. (dropping one or more classes).

Refund Policy

Students who officially withdraw from the institution or who reduce their semester credit hour load shall have their tuition and mandatory fees refunded according to the following schedule:

On or before August 12, 2011 100%

From August 15-24, 2011 70%

From August 25-26, 2011 25%

From August 29, 2011 and later 0%

Soldiers utilizing the GoArmyEd portal will follow the GoArmyEd refund schedule which is posted at https://www.goarmyed.com/public/facility pages/Central Texas College/courseinfo.asp and also posted on the “Class Details” screen in the GoArmyEd Class Schedule.

Online Registration

You may qualify to register for Ft. Hood Classes on-line. Please check with CTC Fort Hood Registration at 526-1906 to see if you qualify. Fort Hood policy requires payment the same day you enroll, otherwise you will be dropped.

Financial Aid Students: be absolute funds are available.

MYCAA Students: upon registering turned in paperwork to the Business Office to prevent from dropping for nonpayment.

College Credit for Military Experience

Upon successful completion of six semester hours at CTC with a minimum 2.0 G.P.A., student becomes eligible to receive an evaluation of their military experience for possible awarded credit.

Active Duty Military Verification

A military verification form must be submitted by active duty military (if Tuition Assistance in not used) and their dependents to be eligible for in-state tuition rates.

New students enrolling at Central Campus must submit an application at least 48 hours before enrolling.

Texas Higher Education Assessment (THEA)

You must take the official THEA or ACT ASSET test before registering for college level credit courses, unless you are Active Duty Military or THEA exempt. Please contact a counselor concerning these requirements at 526-1917.

Placement Tests

CTC Placement Tests or ACT ASSET tests are required to enroll in math, English, and science courses. Tests are administered at Bldg. 3201, on Fort Hood at 7:30 a.m. and/or 12:30 p.m. each Wednesday. There will be a daily test administered on May 31 - June 3 and July 25 - August 12, 2011. ACT ASSET test cost $20.00 for civilians. Active duty are tested by Education Services (phone 287-4292 or 287-5553).

Graduation

If you plan to graduate in December 2011, you must file for graduation by October 1, 2011. Please see a CTC counselor in Bldg. 3201 for further information.
