Telecom Summary

Beaverton School District is seeking proposals for the current connections that are used to

provide phone lines to the current Nortel phone system, emergency lines (security, fire, elevator,

ect.) and outbound mass dialing to parents and community. Over the next year and a half the

district is moving to a VOIP system that will have two SIP connections that will provide dial tone

and DIDs to the district. All services but the emergency lines will be affected by the

implementation of this system.

Current design of telecom system:

3 PRI circuits for inbound and outbound calls originating from the administration

office PBX.

o

This includes inbound and outbound calls at all 12 schools and sites tied

to the administration office PBX using the district network.

o

4500 D.I.D’s (currently 45 blocks of 100 numbers- 503 area code)

370 CTX analog telephone lines at non-networked sites.

o

In addition, 2 CTX PRI circuits installed at the administration office PBX to

provide the ability to 4-digit dial to and from the administration building and

all BSD sites.

o

Includes feature to allow call forwarding the analog telephone lines at

these schools to the above mentioned DIDs that reside at the

administration office in order to have one centrally located Voice Mail

system.

o

Each CTX line provides a phone number, inward and outward dialing for

each site. Emergency lines for locations may be included in these.

• Security, Alarm and 911 Emergency direct access lines (POTS) are used at all sites

1 PRI takes care of all long distance calls from the 12 networked sites
