Operational Cautions for the Intrinsically Safe Battery 1. Do Not operate an FM Approved product in a

Haz-ardous Atmosphere if it has been Physically Dam-aged (I.e. Cracked Housing)

2.Do not replace or change batteries or charge batter-ies in a Hazardous Atmosphere.

3. Failure to use the radio with the specific approved battery or accessories may result in a dangerous con-dition.

4. Do not disassemble the product in any way that would expose internal electrical circuits or wiring. 5.Repairs should only be completed by an approved

(15)

IMPRES Battery

The IMPRES Battery and the radio have com-puter chips that monitor the radio utilization and charging operations. Insert the battery or

remove it by squeezing the battery latches and pushing to lock or pulling to remove

(16)

IMPRES Battery Charging

The IMPRES Bank Charger and Adaptive Charger will :

1. Monitor the usage pattern of the Battery 2.Store that information inside the Battery

3.Perform a Recondition Cycle Only when needed. 4. Will not overheat the battery regardless of how

long it is left in the charger.

5. Charger monitors the battery and automatically “Tops Off” the battery as required.

(17)

IMPRES Battery Charger Indicators

Single Flash GREEN –Charger Has Powered Up Steady RED –Battery is in Rapid Charge Mode Flashing GREEN—Battery has completed rapid

Charge (>90% available capacity) OR Battery is in Trickle Charge and Requires 1 Hour.

Steady GREEN—Battery if FULLY Charged.

Flashing YELLOW— Battery is Waiting to Charge. Flashing RED— Battery is Not Chargeable or not

making Contact properly.

Steady YELLOW—Battery is in Recondition Mode and Requires up to 8 Hours to Complete.
