Obstetrician/Gynecologist (Ob/Gyn); in other words, you can “refer yourself,”

so these providers are commonly called self-referral specialists.

Your PCP may have an established relationship with a certain group of self-referral

specialists in HealthSpan’s network. If you want to seek care from a provider

associated with your PCP, please talk to your PCP for a recommendation.

approved written authorization from HealthSpan’s Medical Management team before

seeking care from a specialist in this section. Failure to do so could result in loss of

benefit and increased out-of-pocket cost to you.
