Lisbon and the Tagus: a long love story

Join us on a wonderful boat tour and discover Lisbon from the river! Lisbon is an ancient city that has long welcomed travellers from around the world. From the Phoenicians to the romans, the scary Vikings or the English crusaders, all left their mark and stories.

Like the navigators from the 1500’s we will set sail from Belém and explore a new world between Belém and the Castle Hill.

The tram 28 and the Castle: old Lisbon, top to bottom

Don’t feel like walking up the hills? No problem: we’ll walk them down! Join us in a walking tour that changes the tradition of climbing the Lisbon hills, beginning with the most famous tram ride from the Downtown area to the Castle.

The Castle of Saint George is the greatest monument in the city! Sitting on the top of the hill for ages, it has seen many different Lisbons and welcomed so many different peoples and traditions! Explore the Archaeological area of the Castle, one of the most interesting in Lisbon, witness a crossroad of many centuries. After that, why not climb the tall walls and towers of the citadel that once protected the Moorish and Christian royalty? The Jewish heritage of Lisbon

Join us on this walk to the history of the Jews in Lisbon over the past centuries!

Over the centuries, Lisbon witnessed the arrival of many different peoples and became a melting pot of different cultures and religions. During a surprising walk to the past, we will go in search of the Jewish people, remember their importance in the Medieval Lisbon and their role in the Portuguese Maritime Discoveries.

Along the old Jewish quarters and the Lisbon of old, we will explore the ways of life of the Chosen People and the events that eventually put an end to the peaceful coexistence between Lisbon and the Jewish community.
