Award Winning Artist and Naturalist
Dates Employed: 1988 – Present Employment Duration: 32 yrs Location: BC, SK, MB, ON, NB, PEI, NS
I work as an artist and naturalist. As an artist I use my art work to show how we are connected within the ecosystem, of which we are a part and how our everyday actions affect wilderness areas far from where we live.
My medium of choice is fibre and whenever possible I use previously used
materials. I spin paper into thread for weaving and have even been known to use grizzly bear scat (spring time scat with sedge) to make pooh paper.
I use paint, fabric dyes, handmade paper, stitching and photography to create the imagery I use in my woven paintings.
As a naturalist I have been interpreting the BC landscape with guests from around the world as a grizzly bear viewing guide in remote wilderness areas.
