More than 250,000 Illinois high school students will be invited to

attend the 26 Illinois College Expositions (ICE) that will be held

throughout the state during the 2012–2013 school year.

These college fairs are projects of the Illinois Association for

College Admission Counseling (IACAC) and are planned and

presented by the host institutions and participating high schools.

Your participation is welcomed and encouraged.

Simply complete and return the registration form in this PDF or

register online at www.iacac.org/ice.

ILLINOIS COLLEGE EXPOSITION REGULATIONS

(Adapted from IACAC and NACAC Statement of Practices and Courtesies)

1. Representatives should arrive on time for a program and remain until the end.

2. Promotional giveaways are strictly prohibited. Only literature pertaining to the

college or university is permitted. If you are not sure if an item is acceptable,

please ask the ICE On-Site Chairperson. The following are examples of

prohibited materials/activities:

Key chains

Demonstrations (including those with food preparation,

drawings/raffles, etc.)

Water bottles

T-shirts

Pennants

Bags

Food/Candy

Competitions of any kind

3. Recruitment and distribution of literature is restricted to the parameters of the

booth or table space.

4. Audio-visual equipment should not interfere with neighboring

representatives.

5. Displays cannot exceed or obstruct the view of adjacent representatives.

Displays should be no larger than 8ft. high (with the item on the floor) x 6ft.

wide x 3ft. deep.

6. Conversations with students and parents are to be conducted in a

professional manner. Representatives are asked to remain behind or on the

side of tables, not in the aisles.

7. Institutions will be expected to notify the program sponsor if a representative

other than a professional staff member or a faculty member will be attending

the scheduled program.

8. The primary responsibility of college representatives at ICE programs is to

speak with students and parents about their individual institution; it is NOT

the responsibility of representatives to speak with individuals who may be

trying to promote educational products or services.

9. Failure to adhere to these guidelines will result in your institution being asked

to vacate your table and the Illinois College Exposition. Colleges and

universities participating in Illinois College Exposition (ICE) programs are

expected to adhere to the IACAC Statement of Practices and Courtesies and

Statement of Principles of Good Practice for members of the National
