Statement of Risk and Insurances

Conditions of Event Participation

Motorsport  is  dangerous.

In exchange for participating in an SEKQLD event in capacity (as a

competitor, official or spectator) all participants agree to release SEKQLD, its

management committee, event officials, promoters, sponsor organisations

affiliated partners Karting Queensland and Karting Australia (collectively

known as “Associated Entities”) from all liability for your death, personal injury

(including burns), psychological trauma, loss or damage (including property

damage) occurring from your participation in or attendance of any SEKQLD

event.

Except to the extent prohibited by law participants agree that SEKQLD and its

Associated Entities do not make any warranty, implied or express, that the

event services will be provided with due care or skill, and that any materials

provided in the provision of the event will be fit for the purpose for which they

are supplied.

Participants must acknowledge the risks of attending and/or participating in

any SEKQLD event include the risk that you may suffer harm as a result of:

karts and/or motor vehicles (or parts of them) colliding with other karts and/or

motor vehicles, persons or property, and the failure or unsuitability of facilities

to ensure the safety of persons or property at any SEKQLD event.

It  is  a  condition  of  membership  and  of  event  participation  that  all  parties  involved

in   any   SEKQLD   event   agree   to   do   so   solely   at   their   own   risk   and   in

acknowledgement  of  the  above  disclaimer.

Insurances and Insurance Coverage

SEKQLD does not operate with any public liability insurance in its own name.

SEKQLD events are currently run in accordance with the rules and

regulations of Karting Australia and runs its events under a race permit as

supplied by the host Karting Australia affiliated club in accordance with the

supplementary regulations tendered for approval prior to a meet being held.

In this regard SEKQLD’s events are covered by the general insurances

applicable to the host club as if it were holding one of its own events.

It is therefore essential for all participants in SEKQLD to adhere to the

guidelines set out in the Karting Australia Manual and the SEKQLD

Regulations in order to ensure each event is covered by the relevant

insurances.
