Introduction
The Sportsman Enduro Karting Club of Queensland Inc. (herein referred to as
SEKQLD) is an endurance karting club whose primary function is the running
and governance of Endurance Kart Racing events in the state of Queensland.
SEKQLD runs under the rules, regulations and competitor insurances of
Karting Australia and its state body, Karting Queensland.
This document is to act as a guide to all members and competitors who
compete with and as part of SEKQLD.

participating in the sport of karting.”

safety or comfort as possible.”
1.4 About SEKQLD and its Partners
Sportsman Enduro Karting Club of Queensland (SEKQLD) is the promoter and organiser of the Queensland State Endurance Championship, also known as the SEKQLD Series. We operate with the aim of helping competitors to enter and continue to compete in the sport of karting. In particular, SEKQLD is particularly interested in promoting the discipline of Endurance Racing.

SEKQLD along with the Goulburn Kart Club (operating under the title of Sportsman Enduro Karting New South Wales), The Endurance Karting Association (TEKA) and the Subaru Karting Association of New South Wales (SKANSW) form the National Endurance Karting Council (NEKC).Each club will work together to ensure Technical and Competition parity exists in the regulations where applicable.
This extends to the use of common suppliers where an overall cost and logistical benefits can be achieved for the benefit of all members
All clubs will endeavor to hold cross-series events jointly in the future, providing competitors from all series with the opportunity to complete against one another.
SEKQLD has Temporary Affiliated Member status with Karting Queensland.
Karting Queensland provides SEKQLD with the regulatory permits
SEKQLD will work with Karting Australia to ensure that the rules and regulations that apply to the SEKQLD Series are compliant with those standards set out in the KARTING AUSTRALIA manual including the compliance with the Sportsman Class of racing. This will ensure that SEKQLD is an KARTING AUSTRALIA-endorsed series, permitting it to run under all applicable insurances.

Australia
The Australian Karting Association, the governing body of kart racing within Australia
Club(s) Club, The Club or Host Club refers to any KARTING AUSTRALIA-Affiliated club with whom SEKQLD.
Competitor(s) Competitor(s) refer to anyone contesting an SEKQLD Event as a racing driver.
Karting Queensland
The KARTING AUSTRALIA’s state-run association for the governing of kart racing in Queensland. Karting Queensland is the endorser of the SEKQLD Series.
Nominated Agent
Refers to any agent or supplier who has been officially and formally nominated to supply services to competitors.
Series Champion
The title that SEKQLD teams will be competing for at Championship Events during a single calendar year.
Enduro Refers to the Endurance Racing format in general. Typically teams will contest an Enduro Event over a period of one hour or more. Event The term Event refers to an overall race weekend.
Racing Hour A Racing Hour refers to the time-frame beginning at the start of the race, and to every one (1) whole hour occurring after that point until the race’s conclusion. The first racing hour starts as soon as the green flag/light has been shown indicating the start of racing and concludes exactly one hour after this point.
NOTE: That a racing hour does not refer to one hour of elapsed time, rather the time-frame during which particular events in the race are required to occur (such as pit stops).
Series Series or The Series refers t the sequence of racing events that make up the SEKQLD Championship.
Series Champion
The team who has accrued the most number of points from Championship Rounds over the SEKQLD Season.
Team(s) Teams of drivers contest the SEKQLD Championship. Team’s must comprise of two or more drivers and may optionally have other personnel such as pit crew. Note that although multiple karts can operate under a single team name, for recording purposes teams are identified by the racing number on their kart.

SEKQLD Governance
The purpose of this section is to provide an overview to all stakeholders of the governance process relevant to SEKQLD.
SEKQLD is governed by the SEKQLD Management Committee who is focused specifically on promoting and running endurance racing events in accordance with the rules set out by Karting Queensland and Karting Australia.
Tasks handled by the SEKQLD Management Committee include the running of the SEKQLD Series’ budget, planning of events, administering of the SEKQLD Series Championship and identifying and executing new strategies to ensure the continued success and growth of the SEKQLD Series.

Key Club Information
The following section outlines key information for the SEKQLD’s stakeholders.
2.2.1
Formation Timeline
The following is a summary of the key dates leading to the formation of SEKQLD as an organisation, and are referred to in binding documentation pertaining to the Club’s formation:
12th December 2013: The date upon which SEKQLD is considered to have formed
an Unincorporated Association.
15th March 2014: The date upon which SEKQLD elected to become an
Incorporated Association. This decision was taken by a vote held at the Warwick Kart Club, Sandy Creek Raceway in the suburb of Allan. A clear majority of 80% present voted in favour of incorporating.
15th April 2014: The date SEKQLD first formed its first management
committee. All self-nominated candidates ran uncontested. A list of the candidates representing SEKQLD can be found in Section 3.2.
24th May 2014: The date SEKQLD’s first Management Committee meeting
was held.
12th June 2013: The date SEKQLD applied to be recognised as an incorporated entity with the Queensland Government.
9th August 2014: SEKQLD applies to the Queensland Department of National Parks, Racing and Recreation for a grant to run an all-female karting team in 2015.
2nd October 2014: SEKQLD applies to become affiliated with Karting Queensland 18 November 2014: SEKQLD is accepted as a Temporary Affiliated Member of
Karting Queensland.
13December 2014: The Queensland Department of National Parks, Racing and Recreation grants SEKQLD’s application for the finding of an all-female karting team.
31 January 2015: SEKQLD completes its first Financial Year.
SEKQLD Membership
In incorporating participants in SEKQLD will be required to become members of the club. Club members will usually be required to pay a membership fee at the discretion of the Management Committee on an annual basis. All members must adhere to the club rules outlined in the Constitution and must uphold the objects of the Club.
Under the Club Rules each active member has the right to vote on open motions put forward by the SEKQLD Management committee as well as elections for positions on the Management Committee.
The three levels of SEKQLD Membership are outlined below:
Regular Member
Regular Members are members who have elected to join SEKQLD. A regular membership lasts twelve (12) months from the date of an accepted application. Regular Members will be required to pay an annual membership fee at the rates determined by the SEKQLD Management Committee.
A regular member is able to cast a single vote in relation to any motion put forward by the SEKQLD
Any individual who has operated as an official or volunteer at an SEKQLD event and is NOT a driver is eligible for a payment-free regular membership.
Foundation Member
A Foundation Member is an active participant in SEKQLD who has partaken at least one event in the SEKQLD 2014 season prior to June 30, 2014, either as a competitor, official or volunteer.
A Foundation Membership lasts for twelve (12) months from the date of membership renewal and will carry over until the Foundation Member chooses to terminate his or her membership. The Management Committee may elect to charge Foundation Members a special or reduced yearly membership renewal fee.
Foundation Member’s rights are the same as a Regular Member in relation to voting under the Club Rules.
Life Member
A Life Member is an honorary position given to an SEKQLD member to recognise an outstanding contribution to the Club and/or Series. The process for a Life Membership being granted is as follows:
• Five (5) or more members of the Management Committee must be present; • A motion nominating a Life Membership must be put forward by a member of
the Management Committee;
• At least 50% of Management Committee members must vote in favour of the
giving of a Life Membership. If 50% or greater is achieved, the Life Membership is passed.
Life Members will not be charged an annual membership renewal fee.
Management Committee Selection
SEKQLD as a group has empowered a Management Committee to run the organisation and oversee its strategic direction. As per the Club Rules shown in the COnstitution, the Management Committee is a body elected by those holding a current SEKQLD membership.
The normal term for the management Committee is one (1) year from the date of election.
Elections will be scheduled to be held within four (4) weeks of the commencement of a new club Financial Year. SEKQLDs Financial Year has been scheduled to conclude on the 31st of January each year. Therefore elections will typically be held and completed before the 28th of February each year.
Candidates wishing to run for Management Committee Positions must make their intention to run for a position known by the Club’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) for that year.
Candidates wanting to run for a Management Committee position must meet the following criteria:
o The candidate must be a current member of SEKQLD
o The candidate must have been part of SEKQLD for at least six months at the time of voting for Management Committee positions. SEKQLD’s AGM will be held within the last week of January every year, unless other circumstances arise preventing this.
2.3
Statement of Risk and Insurances
Conditions of Event Participation
Motorsport is dangerous.
In exchange for participating in an SEKQLD event in capacity (as a
competitor, official or spectator) all participants agree to release SEKQLD, its
management committee, event officials, promoters, sponsor organisations
affiliated partners Karting Queensland and Karting Australia (collectively
known as “Associated Entities”) from all liability for your death, personal injury
(including burns), psychological trauma, loss or damage (including property
damage) occurring from your participation in or attendance of any SEKQLD
event.
Except to the extent prohibited by law participants agree that SEKQLD and its
Associated Entities do not make any warranty, implied or express, that the
event services will be provided with due care or skill, and that any materials
provided in the provision of the event will be fit for the purpose for which they
are supplied.
Participants must acknowledge the risks of attending and/or participating in
any SEKQLD event include the risk that you may suffer harm as a result of:
karts and/or motor vehicles (or parts of them) colliding with other karts and/or
motor vehicles, persons or property, and the failure or unsuitability of facilities
to ensure the safety of persons or property at any SEKQLD event.
It is a condition of membership and of event participation that all parties involved
in any SEKQLD event agree to do so solely at their own risk and in
acknowledgement of the above disclaimer.
Insurances and Insurance Coverage
SEKQLD does not operate with any public liability insurance in its own name.
SEKQLD events are currently run in accordance with the rules and
regulations of Karting Australia and runs its events under a race permit as
supplied by the host Karting Australia affiliated club in accordance with the
supplementary regulations tendered for approval prior to a meet being held.
In this regard SEKQLD’s events are covered by the general insurances
applicable to the host club as if it were holding one of its own events.
It is therefore essential for all participants in SEKQLD to adhere to the
guidelines set out in the Karting Australia Manual and the SEKQLD
Regulations in order to ensure each event is covered by the relevant
insurances.

This section details the objectives set prior to and during the 2014 SEKQLD and their outcomes.

2015 Series Rules & Supplementary
Regulations
This chapter provides to all competitors the details of the rules of the SEKQLD Series for 2015.
5.1
Karting Australia Manual
The SEKQLD Series operates according to the rules and regulations outlined in the Karting Australia Manual. Specifically, competitors are expected to be in knowledge of and abide by the contents of Chapter 27 of this document which can be found at the following link: http://www.karting.net.au/administration/rules.
5.2
SEKQLD Additional Rules
This section contains rules that have been formally submitted to Karting Australia for publishing in a later edition of Chapter 27, as well as additional rule clarifications where required.
Definition of an Endurance Race
An Endurance Karting Event is any event conducted on a sealed surface in which the winner is declared after a set time limit or a set racing distance that is higher than a standard sprint karting event.
Standard Event Format
The following event format is considered to be standard across an SEKQLD Competition Round:
• Official Practice • Qualifying • Race
Official Practice
Official Practice is an officially timed session which will be conducted prior to qualifying in such a manner that will allow sufficient time for all teams to familiarise themselves with the circuit layout and conditions. The minimum time allowed for Official Practice is one (1) hour, with a maximum time of four (4) hours allowed.
During Official Practice teams may only practice with a kart that is entered and has been scrutineered for the event. This kart must bear the same racing number as per that team’s nomination form.
Qualifying
Qualifying is used to determine the starting order of competitors for the race and is mandatory at all SEKQLD events. Teams must participate in Qualifying unless a relevant technical issue prevents a team from participating. Where a team cannot participate in Qualifying, they must start the race from Pit Lane.
Teams MUST qualify on the tyres and fuel that they will be starting the race on unless a valid technical reason has been presented to the Chief Scrutineer. Tyre changes between racing and qualifying are NOT permitted. If the Chief Scrutineer has permitted a team to
In exceptional circumstances, where a significant change in the circuit conditions has occurred, the Clerk of Course may request that all teams change their tyres ahead of commencing the race.
All teams will be weighed at the conclusion of qualifying; with teams not meeting the minimum weight requirements in Section 3.11 being forced to start from pit lane five (5) minutes after the race has commenced.
Qualifying Formats
Qualifying formats may vary between events and will be specified in the Supplementary Regulations for each individual event. The following Qualifying Formats are approved for use at SEKQLD Events:
i. Timed Qualifying; ii. ‘F1’ Qualifying;
iii. Aggregate Qualifying; and iv. Single-‐Lap Shootout Qualifying
Race
The Race is the only session (unless specified otherwise in an event’s Supplementary Regulations) where Competition Points will be awarded based on finishing position. The race will run for the indicated period of time as per that event’s Supplementary Regulations. The following sections detail the phases that will/may occur during an Event.
Driver Requirements
Minimum License Requirements
The Minimum licence requirements for endurance racing are as follows:
• Honda GX200 Class: Provisional D Grade • Torini Class: D Grade RECOMMEND C GRADE
Minimum Driver Numbers
The Minimum number of Drivers that can be nominated for an Event is as follows:
• Up to 6 hours: Minimum 2 Drivers • Up to 12 Hours: Minimum 3 Drivers • 12 hours +: Minimum 4 Drivers
Maximum Driver Limit
No driver shall exceed sixty (60) minutes of continuous driving without a driver change. A competitor must remain out of the kart for twenty (20) minutes before re-‐entering the kart.
Heat & Extreme Weather Policy
In the extreme heat (above 35 degrees Celcius) or severe weather, the Clerk of Course may declare the heat policy in effect.
Refer to Appendix 1 for the rules governing Heat & Extreme Weather.
Driver Swaps
Must be undertaken in the zone indicated by the Clerk of Course at the drivers briefing. This will be clearly marked.
Refueling
Timing of Refueling
During the race, all refuelling stops will be timed by the Refuelling Marshal(s) or by an electronic fuel timing system.
The time period for refuelling is to be no less than 90 seconds. A longer minimum refueling time may be stipulated in the event’s Supplementary Regulations.
Refueling Procedure
For a fuel stop to count the driver completing the refueling must leave the pit lane. No stacking of fuel stops will be permitted.
Minimum Fuel Stops
The minimum fuel stops that all karts must take during a race are:
• Honda Class – 1 stop per two full hours of racing • Torini Class -‐ 1 stop per 1.5 full hours of racing
Class Weights
The minimum weights that all karts must be on or over at all times when on track is:
• Honda Class – 185 Kg • Torini Class 190 Kg
Pit Lane Closures
First 30 Minutes
Pit lane will be closed for the first thirty (30) minutes of the race.
Safety Kart
As soon as a full Course caution is instated, the Pit entry shall be closed to all Karts. No pits stops are permitted until the Field is stabilised behind the lead Kart and the Pit entry is opened by the Clerk of the Course.
Penalties
The Clerk of the Course may impose any one or combination of the following penalties:
• reprimand;
• Drive through penalty
• stop/go penalty (10 seconds to 5 minutes); • computer lap penalty;
• place penalty;
• points penalty (Event or championship); • revision of grid position;
• fine or suspension.
Engines
The only types of engines able to race in SEKQLD Enduro events are:
• Twin Honda GX200 UT Series Engines • Twin Torini
There will be no mixing of different engine types under any circumstances.
Refer to Appendix 2 for the rules governing the Torini TRE210.
Exhausts
Only the following Homologated exhausts will be permitted:
• Honda Class – the SEK Power Pipe & Standard Box Muffler • Torini Class – the Torini Power Pipe
Final Drives
Final drive sprockets are fixed at the following:
• Honda Class: 64 or 66 teeth • Torini Class: 64 or 66 Teeth
Only one sprocket may be fitted to the rear axle for each engine.
Fuel Tanks
A maximum 10L fuel tank may be fitted. Where indicated by the supplementary regulations a maximum fill line may be applied at a capacity lower than the total capacity of the tank.
Class
Weights
The minimum weight of the Kart, inclusive of Driver, engines and engine oil shall measure by the scales nominated by the Clerk of the Course at the Meeting.
Minimum weights shall be:
• Subaru Class: 165KG • Honda Class: 185KG • Torini Class: 190KG
Tyres
The following tyres are the only tyres permitted: Honda Class:
• Dry – Dunlop SL1A • Wet – Dunlop SL1AW
• Option – Dunlop SL6A (MARQUEE ROUND ONLY)

Rear number plates shall be coloured as follows:
• Honda Class: Yellow background with Black number(s) • Torini Class: Black Background with White Number(s) • Subaru Class: Clerk of Course’s Discretion.

Championships & Titles
The SEKQLD Series is contested over seven rounds in 2015 with two classes participating in the events. These classes will be:
• The Queensland Endurance Championship (Honda Engines) • The Queensland Torini Trophy
All Championship Rounds count towards to a team’s end of season total.
The Series will also offer two regional titles: The Central Queensland Title and the Southern Queensland Title.
The title of State Endurance Champion will be awarded to the team who has scored the most points over a single season. This title will be awarded to the winners of the Honda Class only. The winners of the Torini Class
Trophies will be awarded to the first three teams at all Championship Events and to the first five teams in the Series at the end of the Season. A special award will also be given out at each Championship Round based on different criteria at every event as well as a “Hard Charger” award for team’s making up the most positions in the race after the first racing hour.

Podium Positions
Trophies will be awarded to the first three (3) teams at all Championship Events.
Hard Charger Award
A “Hard Charger” award will be given at each Championship Round in the Queensland Endurance Championship Class ONLY. This award will be given to the team making up the most positions in the race after the first racing hour.
Round Special Award
A special award will also be given out at each Championship Round based on different criteria at every event. Details can be found in Section 5.7. This will be awarded in the Queensland Endurance Championship Class ONLY.
Overall Race Winner & Podium Positions
The overall winner is a non-‐points paying trophy that will be presented to the first team to cross the finish

Series Points
Full Series Points will be awarded to teams that have completed a full race distance (75% of the allocated race distance or greater). Where a team is classified as finishing but has completed less than 75% of the allocated distance half points will be awarded to that team. Points for full race completion will be allocated in the following way at Championship Rounds:

Sprint Races
Sprint Races are non-‐championship and will be run in conjunction with selected KARTING AUSTRALIA Club Days after. These sprint rounds will enable SEKQLD competitors to race their endurance racing equipment under sprint racing conditions and will be an excellent promotion for not only SEKQLD, but the clubs at which we race.
Sprint Race dates will be notified as the season progresses.
Championship Rounds
Championship Rounds are any event over 6 hours in length where Series Points are on offer.
Marquee Round
A Marquee Round is a one-‐off special event that also doubles as a Championship Round. Marquee events have special rules designed to make racing more exciting.

2015 Queensland Endurance Championship
(Honda Class)
The top five (5) teams in 2015 Queensland Endurance Championship will be presented with trophies to recognize their achievements at the end of the season. The winner will be crowned “Queensland Endurance Champion”.

2015 Queensland Torini Trophy
The top three (3) teams in Torini Class will be presented with trophies to recognize their achievements at the end of the season. The winner will be crowned “Queensland Torini Trophy Title Holder”

Regional Titles
In addition to the awarding of an overall series champion in both classes, SEKQLD will award a Regional Title to the team accruing the highest number of points in the races identified as being part of either the Central or South Queensland Regional Titles.
Central Queensland Title
The top three (3) positions will be issued with a trophy for their finishing position in the Central Queensland Title at season’s end. The following rounds count as part of the Central Queensland Title:

Season Special Awards
Additionally, the series will also provide awards for the following achievements by teams over the course of the SEKQLD Season:
i. Most Improved Team – awarded to the team with the largest average improvement in terms of position achieved between the first half and second half of the season. This will be based on average finishing position in the second half of the season versus the average finishing position in the first half of the season.
ii. Fastest Lap Award – awarded to the team who achieves the most legitimate fastest laps in a single season.
iii. Pole Position Award – awarded to the team who achieves the most legitimate pole positions in a single season.

People’s Choice Awards
SEKQLD will also allow all participants in the series, be they competitor, pit crew of official the right to vote on the following People’s Choice Awards:
i. Best Presented Team – Awarded to the team who the stakeholders of the SEKQLD Series vote to have been the best presented over the course of the season.
ii. Venue of the Year - Presented to the venue that the SEKQLD Series stakeholders vote as hosting the best event during the 2015 Season.
iii. Official of the Year - This award will be presented to the SEKQLD Series official who the Series stakeholders feel made the best contribution to the series as an official in 2015.
iv. Best and Fairest Team – This award will be presented to the team who is voted as the best and fairest team in the competition by their peers and SEKQLD officials.
Appendix 1: Heat & Extreme Weather
Policy
Period of Effect:
2nd of February 2015 onwards.
Purpose:
The purpose of this policy is to ensure that drivers are adequately protected from the dangers presented by extreme heat and/or extreme weather at each Endurance Karting Event.
Application:
Applies to any Endurance Karting Event as run under Chapter 27 of the Australian Karting Manual.
• The Heat and Extreme Weather Policy will be enforced in the following circumstances: • In the event that ambient temperatures as measured at the endurance racing circuit is above
35 degrees Celsius; and
• In the event of an electrical thunderstorm being within a 5KM radius of the racing circuit.
Rule:
High Temperature Range: 35 – 42 Degrees Celsius
a. The Clerk of Course will announce to all teams that the High Temperature Policy is now in effect
b. One driver change is to be mandatorily undertaken per 30 minutes of racing. This will be in addition to the normal scheduled amount of pit stops.
c. No driver is permitted to return to the kart until after 20 minutes has elapsed from exiting the kart at the previous driver change
d. The temperature will be assessed on an hourly basis by the Clerk of Course. Once the temperature has returned to levels below 35 degrees Celsius, the Clerk of Course may choose to announce that normal racing conditions have resumed.
Extreme Temperature Range: 43 Degrees Celsius and Above
a. The Clerk of Course will announce to all teams that the Extreme Temperature Policy is now in effect
b. The Safety Kart will be deployed in order to bring all karts under control in race order.
c. Once fully under the control of the Safety Kart the race will be red flagged and all competitors will return to the pits.
d. The Clerk of Course will monitor the ambient temperature on a half hourly basis e. Once the ambient temperature drops into the High Temperature Range limit, racing
Extreme Weather: Electrical Storm
a. The Clerk of Course will announce to all teams that the Extreme Weather Policy is now in effect
b. The Safety Kart will be deployed in order to bring all karts under control in race order.
c. Once fully under the control of the Safety Kart the race will be red flagged and all competitors will return to the pits.
d. All spectators, competitors and
e. The Clerk of Course will monitor the weather conditions on a half hourly basis f. Once the electrical storm has passed racing will resume.

Rules
Engine Specifications and Regulations – Torini Class
a) Engines.
(i) The only eligible engine in this class is the Torini model number TRE210. (ii) These engines will be delivered race prepared and sealed by Austech
Industries through its appointed agents.
(iii) Austech Industries offers a limited warranty on all Torini race engines see
manual for details.
b) Modifications allowed.
(iv) Permitted additions include fitting of chain guards, engine mounts, inline
fuel filters, fuel and pulse lines, fuel pumps, throttle linkage, cables and clutches.
(i) Unless otherwise specified, non-tech items are: • Fuel Filter, • Clamps, • Pulse Line, • Switches, • Ancillary Mounts, • Fasteners, • Circlips, • Washer, • Bearings, • Springs,
• Exhaust Support Brackets, • Chain Guards,
• Chain Guard Brackets.
(v) No alteration from original engine specification is permitted to fit a
non-tech item.
(vi) Spark plugs, leads and cap are free. No spark enhancers or boosters are
permitted.
(vii) The ignition kill switch cannot be removed and must function. Remote kill
switches are allowed however the standard kill switch must be retained and must function independently of a remote switch.
(viii) Clutches: All engines must be fitted with a dry air cooled Noram
GE20-219 centrifugal clutch. Clutches will be used to transmit the drive with a maximum engagement speed of not more than 2,500 rpm engines speed. The Noram GE20-219 clutch sprocket has 20 teeth.
(ix) A deflector maybe be fitted to the air filter to stop material coming off the
rear wheel as long as it is connected in a manner that passes scrutineering.
c) Modifications not allowed.
(i) Torini race engines come race prepped and ready to race out of the box
engine type maybe used. The word genuine not only refers to the
components used but also the number and manner in which the engine is assembled.
(ii) Torini race engines come standard with a manifold between the
carburettor and the inlet manifold with a pulse pump fitting fitted. This manifold and fitting cannot be removed, altered or modified in any way. It is the only pulse line allowed.
(iii) Engine TRE210 (twin class) carburettor model TRE210212 is the only
carburettor allowed in this class with standard jet as supplied, no other size jet may be fitted.
(iv) There should be no material removed or modifications made to genuine
Torini carburettors of any kind.
(v) Air filters must be used as supplied attaching to the air intake of the Torini
carburettor. It is permitted to fit an extension tube made of fire resistant material with an internal diameter not greater than the air intake of the carburettor. This should have a maximum bend of 90 degrees and be minimal in length.
(vi) Torini engines are a sealed engine class with no internal alterations,
modifications, material removal, polishing or use of non genuine parts as specified by Austech Industries. The use of coatings such as ceramic, thermal barrier on or in the engine or exhaust is prohibited.
(vii) Torini engines are a TAG engine. It is not permitted to remove or modify
the recoil starter or fan in any way.
(viii) The only permissible fuel tank shall be a central fuel tank of no more than
10 litres.
(ix) Only the homologated exhaust manifold and muffler assembly maybe
used.
(x) Sprockets.
(xi) Final drive sprockets are fixed at either 64 or 66 teeth.
(xii) Only one sprocket may be fitted to the rear axle for each engine.
Engine Scrutineering.
(xiii) Engine Scrutineers will be approved and appointed from time to time.
Only approved Engine Scrutineers may inspect and seal engines. Engine Scrutineers may charge a fee for this service. A list of currently approved Engine Scrutineers is available on request and is included in these Rules
(xiv) The Engine Scrutineer will pay particular attention to the finish of all
components to ensure that they match the standard unit. The Engine Scrutineer may check and compare any suspect component with a standard part as supplied by Austech Industries. Checks and
measurements may be carried out to ensure that tolerances are within those specified by Austech Industries.
(xv) Engines will be sealed by the Engine Sealer using lock wire and lead or
plastic seals.
(xvi) The Engine Sealer shall keep a record of the engine numbers of engines
place. If a seal is broken the engine must be represented to the Engine Scrutineer for inspection and sealing. No engine inspections or sealing will be available at events unless specifically requested or approved by the organiser or the Engine Sealer.
(xviii)At the conclusion of an Event, the organisers reserve the right to inspect
any Kart in any way to satisfy compliance with these specifications.
(xix) At the conclusion of an Event, the organiser reserves the right to take
away any engine or engines for inspection and/or dynamometer testing if they wish. If any infringement is found to exist the team will be liable for any inspection fee.
