Paramus Public Library maintains an extensive, updated collection of materials about business, and industry. We focus on small business, sales and marketing, advertising, new technologies, and management practices.

This business database provides full text for over 1,000 business publications. The rich collection of titles in Business Source Elite provides information dating back to 1985. More than 10,100 substantial company profiles from Datamonitor are also included. This database is updated on a daily basis via EBSCOhost.

Reference USA

ReferenceUSA provides an extensive listing of businesses and potential employers in the U.S. and Canada. Here you can search for companies in a specific industry – either close to home or in another state – and prepare for interviews by researching background information about the company including company financials and parent company hierarchies. The company profiles include the names and contact information of company executives, which are helpful for networking and resume direction.

Small Business Reference Center

The Small Business Reference Center is a comprehensive resource for small business owners and those interested in starting a business, offering full-text periodicals and reports, sample business plans, U.S. tax forms, videos and reference books. It supports small business owners in all relevant areas from planning, financing and managing a business to exit strategies. Users also have the ability to search within specific ‘Business Topics’ and ‘Business Types’ relevant to their needs.

Learning Express “Take A Test”

After logging into Learning Express, Click on “All Centers.”

To take sample tests for career exams, such as Police and Firefighter, got to CAREER CENTER. To take sample tests for college entrance, such as SAT, go to COLLEGE PREPARATION CENTER. To take sample tests for high school GED, go to HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCE CENTER. The service also offers online classes to learn commonly used business software.

PARAMUS BUSINESSES CAN GET LIBRARY CARDS!

The Paramus Public Library is dedicated to researching the business needs of our community whether it is for the individual or a business.

Paramus businesses can obtain a Paramus Library Card for the business by visiting the Paramus Public Library’s Main Building, 116 E. Century Road (across the street from the High School). The person applying for the library card will need proof that the business is located in Paramus and that the business will take full responsibility for items borrowed. Acceptable verification includes business letterhead introducing the person applying for the card, a utility bill or tax bill.

Paramus Chamber Members who are not located in Paramus may visit their local library to inquire about access to databases and other services or they may visit Main (Paramus) Library’s reference desk to obtain access.

Paramus Residents, of course, can get their own library card.
