Return to School

We are so excited to be able to welcome back on-site all year levels this coming Friday. It is also uplifting and gives us hope that life is gradually returning to normal.

We have appreciated having all of our learners on site at some stage over the last week and the playground and learning spaces have been buzzing with chat, laughter and excitement. Our teachers have made the social and emotional learning of our learners a priority as we recognise the challenging time they have all had. Over the coming weeks teachers will strive to engage and motivate for great return to learning.

We hope our parents are excited by the return to school and support return to school routines. I would sincerely like to thank all students, families and staff for the enormous effort they have placed into ensuring our students have been given every opportunity to continue with their learning.

Mask Wearing

The Victorian Chief Health Officer has announced new rules around mask wearing to keep everyone at school safe. When worn properly, masks can play an important role in reducing the transmission risks of Covid-19 that could happen from common activities in school.

Students in Grade 3 and above

* Face masks will be required for secondary students at all times both indoors and outdoors at school.

* Face masks will also be required for all school students in Grade 3 and above indoors. Face masks can be removed while outdoors at school for primary students.

* Face masks will be strongly recommended for Prep to Year 2 students.

* For composite classes of Grade 2 and 3 students, Grade 2 students will be strongly encouraged to wear masks like their Grade 3 peers.

* Parent/carers of a student/s who meet the criteria for an exception must provide their approval in writing for their child/ren to not wear a mask to the school.

We will try to maximise outdoor learning where possible and offer more recreation and breaks wherever practicable to further support students. Thank you for your ongoing support in the implementation of these important steps that enable us to return to onsite learning. We look forward to welcoming your children back into the classroom.

Year 7-10

Learning Neighbourhood

Back to School

It was great to have everyone back at school last week even though it was on different days. It is excellent news that we will all be back at school this Friday. Thank you once again for all the time and effort placed into learning remotely, hopefully we will remain at school for the remainder of the term.

Queenscliff Camp and Work Experience

We are still waiting on a potential update to the operations guide for schools. Hopefully this will allow the Queenscliff camp to go ahead. Notes with further information will be released this Friday from school when everyone is back at school. Work experience will not be conducted next week, we are looking to complete this later in the term. Information for this will be released once we have an update from the operations guide. Thank you for your patience in regards to these, hopefully they can go ahead.

Hands on Learning

Last week students continued working on the senior chairs outside of Mrs Moon’s office, looked at the results of the winter pruning and started moving some new topsoil back into the veggie garden. It was great to have the majority of team back at school and we look forward to welcoming all members of the team back next Thursday. Over the next few weeks we will be looking at introducing students on waiting lists to HoL.

Showcasing the tools donated by Bunnings Echuca and completing work on the 9/10 chairs.

Transition

We will be looking at having transition days for our current year 6 students to assist their transition into secondary schooling. Information in regards to this will be coming out shortly. We are confirming dates for this and will let students and parents know as soon as it is finalised. Transition days for our year 10 students will be confirmed once updates to the operations guide are confirmed.

Debutante Ball

Our Debutante Ball will be held on Friday 26th November.

This will be a great celebration for our Year 10, 11 and 12 students who have been so patient with the uncertainty around this event. Stay tuned for further details.
