The University of Cincinnati James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy invites applications for a full-‐time, non-‐ tenure track, 12-‐month clinical faculty position in the Division of Pharmacy Practice and Administrative Sciences in the area of ambulatory care at the Assistant Professor level. This position will support the patient care mission at the practice site and the educational, service, scholarly missions of the College. Primary responsibilities will include didactic and experiential teaching in the Doctor of Pharmacy program. The teaching focus of the academic responsibilities will be coordination of one of the two Patient Care Laboratory courses. The successful candidate will maintain an ambulatory care practice, precept pharmacy and resident rotations, and participate in scholarly and service activities appropriate for appointment rank.
A new Dean has recently been appointed to lead the James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy and it will soon begin a major renovation project which will include both teaching and research space. The College is located on the Health Sciences Campus in close proximity to Cincinnati’s Children’s Hospital, the Cincinnati Veteran’s Administration Hospital, and the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, as well as the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, and Allied Health Professions which facilitates partnerships in teaching and research with the faculty from these units.
Salary is negotiable and commensurate with education and experience. The position is anticipated to be available July 1, 2014. Excellent communication, interprofessional collaboration potential, and patient care skills are essential. Qualified candidates must have a Pharm.D. degree and be eligible for licensure in Ohio. Candidates must have relevant residency or fellowship experience (or have equivalent clinical experience). Prior teaching experience is preferred. The James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy at the University of Cincinnati (named both the 2013 Public
University of the Year and the top university for students’ return on investment) seeks outstanding applicants and nominations for the position of Chair, Division of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The successful candidate will be named as the Joseph W. Carl Chair.
The College under the leadership of a recently appointed Dean will soon begin a major renovation project of both teaching and research space. The College is located on the Health Sciences Campus adjacent to
Cincinnati’s Children’s Hospital, the Cincinnati Veteran’s Administration Hospital, and University Hospital as well as the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, and Allied Health Professions facilitating partnerships in teaching and research. Research partnerships also exist with a number of healthcare companies including Procter & Gamble whose global headquarters is in Cincinnati.
The division has 14 faculty in the areas of medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutics/biopharmaceutics, pharmacology and skin sciences. Divisional research strengths are in the fields of neuroendocrinology, neuropharmacology, pharmacokinetics, drug delivery, skin and cosmetic sciences and cancer biology. The chair will report to the Dean of the college and serve on the college executive committee as well as other college and university committees. The chair will be expected to provide leadership and advocacy for faculty and division needs at the college and university levels. The chair will participate in divisional teaching for the PharmD, MS and PhD programs and will be expected to supervise MS and PhD students.
Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent and have credentials appropriate for the rank of professor. Preference will be given to candidates whose research is in one of the areas of divisional strength. The successful candidate needs to possess a record of scholarly accomplishment including a history of sustained extramural funding, have experience mentoring graduate students, post-‐doctoral students, and junior faculty, have an appreciation for pharmacy in an academic environment, and possess the leadership skills to advance ongoing and new initiatives in research and teaching.

The College seeks an interdisciplinary scientist with expertise in colloid, surfactant and polymer science to develop a research program relevant to the design of semisolid formulations for improved delivery to skin and mucosal tissues. The successful candidate will be expected to interact effectively with both academic and industrial partners in developing novel topical compositions and therapies, to develop/maintain a competitive, nationally-‐funded research program, and to teach dispersed systems, formulation science and nanotechnology at both the PharmD and MS/PhD levels. The position will support the patient care mission at the Lindner Center of HOPE and the educational, service, and scholarly missions of the College. Primary responsibilities include didactic and experiential teaching in the Doctor of Pharmacy program. The teaching focus of the academic responsibilities will be therapeutics of the central nervous system. The successful candidate will maintain a clinical practice, precept pharmacy students, develop a residency training program focused on care of patients with mental illness, as well as participate in scholarly and service activities appropriate for the appointment rank.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, interprofessional collaboration, and patient care skills are essential. Qualified candidates must have a Pharm.D. degree and be eligible for licensure in Ohio. The ideal candidate will have one or more of the following: 1) completed an ASHP-‐accredited PGY-‐2 residency in psychiatric pharmacy or related field, 2) experience in providing ambulatory care services to patients with mental illness, 3) board certification.
