Using the VMware View Client

Using VMware View from a Browser

While connected to a Keyano Lab computer through a desktop, you will notice a small dropdown button at the top of the screen:

When you click on this, it will drop down a bar at the top of the screen with your username information on it:

When you click on your username, you will see a number of commands:

From this drop down, you will see the following functionality:

Paste Text When selected, you can copy information from your desktop computer into the Keyano Lab Computer

Toggle Full Screen Switch between windowed and full screen mode

Send Ctrl+Alt+Delete This will send a Ctrl+Alt+Delete to the Keyano Lab Computer. Help Help files

About VMware Blast Information about the VMWare Blast software package

Disconnect Disconnect from the Keyano Lab Computer (ATTN: Save all work to an external drive or cloud storage before disconnecting)

Using the VMware View Client on Windows

When you are connected to the Keyano Lab desktop, you will notice a bar along the top of the desktop:

The typical Windows controls are on the right hand side of the bar. These include minimize, maximize/restore, and close:

The Ctrl-Alt-Delete button will pass a Ctrl-Alt-Delete to the Keyano Lab desktop:

The USB button will drop down an expanded menu with the following options:

Automatically Connect at Startup When checked, USB devices that are plugged into the local system will automatically connect to the Keyano Lab Desktop when the VMware View client starts.

Automatically Connect when Inserted When checked, USB devices that are plugged into the local system will automatically connect to the Keyano Lab Desktop when the device is plugged into the local system. Atheros Generic Bluetooth Adapter Check to connect a Bluetooth device to the Keyano Lab

The Options button will drop down an expanded menu with the following options:

Support Information Provides technical support with detailed technical information About VMware Horizon View Client Information about the VMWare Horizon View desktop client Autoconnect to this Desktop Allows you to connect to a default Desktop automatically Enable Relative Mouse Enables relative mouse for CAD and other 3D applications Send Ctrl-Alt-Delete Sends a Ctrl-Alt-Delete to the Keyano Lab desktop

Reset Desktop Resets the Keyano Lab desktop that you are currently working on (Unsaved data is lost)

Disconnect Disconnects from the Keyano Lab desktop

Disconnect and Log Off Disconnects from the Keyano Lab desktop and logs out of the VMware View desktop client

Using the VMware View Client on Mac

When you connect to the Keyano Lab Desktop on a Mac computer, you will notice that by moving your mouse to the very top of the screen, you will bring up a system menu:

From menu, you can access the VMware View client tools. You will find two client tools specific menus:

Quit VMware Horizon View Client Quits the VMware Horizon View Client Disconnect Disconnect from the Keyano Lab Desktop Logoff Logs the user off of the Keyano Lab Desktop

Reset Resets the Keyano Lab desktop that you are currently working on (Unsaved data is lost)

Rollback Rolls back the state of the Keyano Lab Desktop Send Ctrl-Alt-Delete Sends a Ctrl-Alt-Delete to the Keyano Lab Desktop

Printing Enabled Enables users to print to a locally attached printer from their Keyano Lab Desktop

USBStart remote desktop USB services

Connects a local USB device to connect to the Keyano Lab Desktop

Automatically connect at startup When checked, USB devices that are plugged into the local system will automatically connect to the Keyano Lab Desktop when the VMware View client starts.

Automatically connect when inserted When checked, USB devices that are plugged into the local system will automatically connect to the Keyano Lab Desktop when the device is plugged into the local system. USB services not available Informational status on USB devices

Using the VMware View Client on IOS devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod)

VMWare Horizon View client comes with a quick access menu. This menu can be accessed by swiping from the left hand side of your screen. When open, you can easily access programs and files stored on the Keyano Lap Computer:

VMWare Horizon View client for IOS comes with client tools. You may notice these tools on your Keyano Desktop:

Using the VMWare View Client on Android

The VMware View Client for Android comes with a quick access menu. This menu can be accessed by swiping from the left hand side of your screen. When open, you can easily access programs and files stored on the Keyano Lap Computer:

The VMware View Client for Android comes with client tools. You will either notice them along the top of the window:

When the client tools are at the top of the screen, click on the ellipsis right hand side to access the remaining client tools:

When in full screen mode, you can access the client tools by clicking on the 6 dots icon. This will open a radial menu with the client tool menu items:
