Directed institution-wide faculty development program providing educational and mentoring services to assist the 1,600 Duke University School of Medicine faculty members in succeeding in their careers.
Developed a 3-year strategic plan for faculty development that defined measurable goals related to programmatic initiatives, institutional and evaluation research, and the work environment. Directed the Professional Development Seminar Series: orchestrated approximately 20 courses
per year on topics such as grant writing, management skills, public speaking, new faculty orientation, workplace conflict, and career planning. Recruited high quality, seasoned experts to conduct the trainings.
Conducted focus groups on career development needs for junior and senior faculty members. Served as lead staff person for the implementation and oversight of two externally funded faculty
development and training grants: a 3-year, $500,000 grant from the Duke Foundation and a 5-year, $2.3 million grant from the National Institutes of Health.
