Introduction

This Tech Note outlines how to manually reconfigure the Microsoft Server Extensions, and provide a utility to do the Task automatically.

Note You cannot publish Suite Voyager windows via SSL.

SuiteVoyager™ uses Microsoft Front Page™ 2000 Server Extensions to manage publishing security when using the Win-XML Exporter. The portal installation program automatically configures these extensions for the default location of SuiteVoyager under the InetPub\wwwroot directory, and adds the installing user as the administrator of these extensions (SuiteVoyager Roles do not govern the rights to publish).

If, however, you choose another location for the portal files, it is likely that the installation program will not have the rights on that file share to automatically grant publishing rights. In this case you must configure the extensions manually.

Another reason to perform the manual configuration would be to give other users, other than the installing administrator, the rights to publish converted XML windows to the portal.

To learn more about this system, see the Microsoft documentation for Front Page Server Extensions.

Installing the Front Page Extensions

Please follow these steps to configure the extensions manually:

1. After the installation of the SuiteVoyager portal, open the Internet Services Manager (Start/Programs/Administrative Tools).

SuiteVoyager Version 2.0 Enhancements and Differences

• SuiteVoyager 2.0 support IE5.5, and higher, while version1 supports IE5.01, and higher. • The computer must have IE 6.0 installed on it, before Installing WinXML Exporter. • It is recommended to reinstall WinXML Exporter Utility, while Upgrading to

SuiteVoyager2.0.

• The SuiteVoyager 2.0 Portal will automatically determine the browser's capability to use XSLT. Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher supports XSLT.

• SuiteVoyager Prerequisites will check for Microsoft Extension and will let you configure them if needed.

• Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or later must be installed in the web server computer before installing SuiteVoyager.

Note FrontPage Server Extensions 2002 will not be supported until NET server is released and SuiteVoyager has passed QA on this platform.

Please refer to SuiteVoyager Installation Guide For more information: Installing SuiteVoyager Prerequisites.
