WELCOME TO EMMANUEL LUTHERAN CHURCH
Thank you for honoring God with your presence this morning. Please be sure to complete the Online Connection Card, located at www.emmanuellc.org. Visitors: We are especially delighted that you are here today and we hope that your worship with us will be a blessing to you. Quiet and Nursing Rooms: Both are located at the back of the sanctuary, with dark glass doors and blinds; please use the rooms as needed.
A NOTE ABOUT COMMUNION: We believe that in Holy Communion when we receive the bread and wine we actually receive the Lord's Body and Blood for the forgiveness of sins and strength to serve God. If you are a baptized and repentant Christian who desires to commune with us, we believe that by communing you are publicly declaring that you share in our understanding of Holy Communion. In addition you are expressing your oneness in faith with us in Close Communion at Emmanuel as part of The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Only those who have been instructed in Holy Communion should commune. If you have any questions, speak with the pastor or an Elder. An usher will gladly direct you. If you desire to commune regularly with the congregation, please make an appointment with the Pastor.

INVOCATION, CONFESSION AND ABSOLUTION INVOCATION
The sign of the cross may be made by all in remembrance of their Baptism.
P In the name of the Father and of the T Son and of the Holy Spirit.
C Amen.
EXHORTATION 203 P Our help is in the name of the Lord,
C who made heaven and earth.
P If You, O Lord, kept a record of sins, O Lord, who could stand?
C But with You there is forgiveness; therefore You are feared.
P Since we are gathered to hear God’s Word, call upon Him in prayer and praise, and receive the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ in the fellowship of this altar, let us first consider our unworthiness and confess before God and one another that we have sinned in thought, word, and deed, and that we cannot free ourselves from our sinful condition. Together as His people let us take refuge in the infinite mercy of God, our heavenly Father, seeking His grace for the sake of Christ, and saying: God, be merciful to me, a sinner.
Silence for reflection on God's Word and for self-examination.
CONFESSION OF SINS 203
C Almighty God, have mercy upon us, forgive us our sins, and lead us to everlasting life. Amen.
ABSOLUTION 203
P Almighty God in His mercy has given His Son to die for you and for His sake forgives you all your sins. As a called and ordained servant of Christ, and by His authority, I therefore forgive you all your sins in the name of the Father and of the T Son and of the Holy Spirit.
C Amen.
KYRIE
GLORIA IN EXCELSIS
P The Lord be with you.
C And also with you.
P Let us pray.
P Almighty and eternal God, Your Son Jesus triumphed over the prince of demons and freed us from bondage to sin. Help us to stand firm against every assault of Satan, and enable us always to do Your will; through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
C Amen.
Please be seated.
LEAD-IN: WE ARE CALLED TO TREAT OUR NEIGHBORS FAIRLY.
OLD TESTAMENT Leviticus 25:14–17
L A reading from the book of Leviticus, the twenty-fifth chapter.
14And if you make a sale to your neighbor or buy from your neighbor, you shall not wrong one another. 15You shall pay your neighbor according to the number of years after the
jubilee, and he shall sell to you according to the number of years for crops. 16If the years are many, you shall increase the price, and if the years are few, you shall reduce the price, for it is the number of the crops that he is selling to you. 17You shall not wrong one another, but you shall fear your God, for I am the LORD your God.
L This is the Word of the Lord C Thanks be to God

HOLY GOSPEL Mark 3:20–35
L The Holy Gospel according to St. Mark, the third chapter.
C Glory to You, O Lord.
20Then [Jesus] went home, and the crowd gathered again, so that they could not even eat.
21And when his family heard it, they went out to seize him, for they were saying, “He is out of his mind.”
22And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem were saying, “He is possessed by Beelzebul,” and “by the prince of demons he casts out the demons.” 23And he called them to him and said to them in parables, “How can Satan cast out Satan? 24If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. 26And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he
cannot stand, but is coming to an end. 27But no one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. Then indeed he may plunder his house.
28“Truly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the children of man, and whatever blasphemies they utter, 29but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has
forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin”— 30for they had said, “He has an unclean spirit.”
31And his mother and his brothers came, and standing outside they sent to him and called him. 32And a crowd was sitting around him, and they said to him, “Your mother and your brothers are outside, seeking you.” 33And he answered them, “Who are my mother and my brothers?” 34And looking about at those who sat around him, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! 35Whoever does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother.”
L This is the Gospel of the Lord.
C Praise to You, O Christ.
THE APOSTLES' CREED
C I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life T everlasting.
Amen.
Please be seated.

SANCTUS LSB 208
PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING
P Blessed are You, O Lord our God, king of all creation, for You have had mercy on us and given Your only-begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
In Your righteous judgment You condemned the sin of Adam and Eve, who ate the forbidden fruit, and You justly barred them and all their children from the tree of life.
Yet, in Your great mercy, You promised salvation by a second Adam, Your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord, and made His cross a life-giving tree for all who trust in Him.
We give You thanks for the redemption You have prepared for us through Jesus Christ.
Grant us Your Holy Spirit that we may faithfully eat and drink of the fruits of His cross and receive the blessings of forgiveness, life, and salvation that come to us in His body and blood.
Hear us as we pray in His name and as He has taught us:
THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven; give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
THE WORDS OF OUR LORD
P Our Lord Jesus Christ, on the night when He was betrayed, took bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke it and gave it to the disciples and said: “Take, eat; this is My T body, which is given for you. This do in remembrance of Me.”
In the same way also He took the cup after supper, and when He had given thanks, He gave it to them, saying: “Drink of it, all of you; this cup is the new testament in My T blood, which is shed for you for the forgiveness of sins. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”
