Required Materials to Teach This Course

To teach this course, you need the following materials:

• Course Handbook

• Course Companion CD

• Microsoft® Office PowerPoint® files

• Microsoft Hyper-V™ Server Classroom Setup Guide

• Course virtual machines

Important: It is recommended that you use Office PowerPoint 2002 or later to display the slides for this course. If you use PowerPoint Viewer or an earlier version of Office PowerPoint, all the features of the slides might not display correctly.

Note: You can print the instructor notes section of the Office PowerPoint slide decks in Notes view, if you would like to have the instructor notes for reference while conducting class.

Prerequisite Knowledge to Teach This Course

To present this course, you must have:

• Understanding of Windows Server® 2008 and supporting technologies, such

as Internet Information Services

• Experience deploying and configuring Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server

Technologies

• Experience deploying SharePoint 2007 Technologies

• Understanding of the different ways to manage SharePoint Server 2010

• Understanding the difference between SharePoint Foundation 2010 and

SharePoint Server 2010

• Understanding of SQL Server® Technologies

• Understanding of Disaster Recovery planning and procedures

• Clear understanding of the importance of Governance terminology, SLA and

OLA.

• Reviewed the different implementation guides for SharePoint 2010

• Familiarity with SharePoint 2010 information on TechNet and MSDN.

It is highly recommended that you complete the following instructional

Walk through the Introduction slide deck for the Course.

Walk through each module presentation slide deck, and read the corresponding Instructor Notes for the walkthroughs (located in the notes view of the presentation slide deck) for the module.

Familiarize yourself with the Course handbook and the Course CD. Make note of when to direct students' attention to the Course CD for further learning support.

Practice presenting each module:

Identify the key points and must-know information for each topic.

Perform each walkthrough and hands-on lab.

Anticipate the questions that students might have.

Identify examples, analogies, impromptu demonstrations, and additional delivery tips that will help to clarify module content and provide a more meaningful learning experience for your specific audience.

Note any problems that you might encounter during a walkthrough or a lab exercise, and determine a course of action for how you will resolve the problems in the classroom. To access the lab answer keys, click the link provided at the bottom of each lab exercise page on the Course Companion CD.

Read the white paper "Making Small Group Activities Work" located on the MCT Member Site (https://mcp.microsoft.com/mct/resources/ResourceCenter.mspx), which provides guidance on how to conduct small group activities in the classroom.

Set up the instructor computer by following the setup instructions in the

“Microsoft Hyper-V™ Server Classroom Setup Guide” document. This document

provides hardware requirements for the instructor computer, and detailed setup

instructions.
