Legacy Giving
Legacy giving, also referred to as “planned giving,” is a donation made by an individual through a will or other formal designation and are meant to reflect the values and desires of the donor. As the name suggests, most donors want to leave a legacy or memory of their life through their posthumous giving.
In many cases, but not always, a legacy gift is made upon someone’s death.
Legacy giving can take a number of forms:
Recurring donations that begin while the donor is alive and continue after they have passed can include:
• Material goods
• Property
• Life insurance
• Stocks
Through a planned gift or endowment, you will:
• Ensure the viability of Anshei Emuna and its programs
• Enable Anshei Emuna to continue to serve the growing needs in the community

Endowment Fund
An endowment is a permanent fund held by a charity from which all or a part of the income earned is distributed to the charity, but the original fund amount remains intact. The goal of an endowment is to grow the fund from new gifts and from its investments. There are also tax benefits for these type of gifts.
Under the leadership of Libo Feinberg, Chairman of the Endowment Fund, Anshei Emuna has many endowment options to choose from, including:
• Charitable Lead Annuity Trust (CLAT)
• Charitable Remainder Annuity Trust (CRAT)
• Personal Residence Trust

YIZKOR SERVICE
Yizkor offers us a unique moment to reflect upon those treasured souls who were taken too soon. It’s a time for interspersing tears of sadness with tears of happiness. We are saddened by the pain of the loss but gladdened by reminiscing and reconnecting with beautiful memories.
This year Yizkor will be emotion- ally challenging. We won’t only be reciting Yizkor for our fami- ly and friends, we will be saying Yizkor for names and faces we are unfamiliar with. The tragedy in Surfside has left an indelible mark on all of us. Weeks of torment waiting and hoping for survivors resulted only in the anguish of re-
ality. Further afield in Israel on Lag B’omer, forty five holy souls lost their lives during a pilgrimage to the cave of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai. Our collective tragedies are often as emotionally draining as our personal tragedies.
This year also marks the 20th anniversary of 9/11. A day forever ingrained in the collective of all Americans.
Almost three thousand Americans lost their lives in the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and United flight 93.
We remember the day we lost our innocence. We remem- ber the day that terrorism wreaked havoc on our country.
As Jews, the phrase “never forget” has become our col- lective mantra. Yizkor literally means to remember; by re- membering we ensure that their lives retain meaning and purpose. It ensures that their legacy will remain a living example for us and for future generations.
