The Papacy is the Antichrist
Most Christians today believe in a false interpretation of prophecy systematized by a Spanish Jesuit, Francisco Ribera, in 1590.
It is a counter-reformation deception that was rejected by Protestant scholars for centuries but recently
adopted and popularized by Darbyism, becoming the dispensational futurism taught almost everywhere today.
Ribera applied all of Revelation but the earliest chapters to the end time rather than to the history of the Church. Antichrist would be a single evil person who would be received by the Jews and would rebuild Jerusalem, abolish Christianity, deny Christ, persecute the Church and rule the world for three and a half years. ...This futurist interpretation with its personal Antichrist and three and a half year period of tribulation did not take root in the

The true interpretation of end time prophecy (eschatology) is called
historicism, and has been the classic Protestant eschatology for centuries.

So why does this matter? Through Jesuit futurism, people are terrified with tales of a coming Antichrist and a terrible tribulation they must escape in a
“secret” pretribulation rapture.
A rebuilt Jewish temple is required, so the
foundation of Zionism is also laid. Since
everyone is scouting the horizon for a coming antichrist, the real one (Papacy) continues to rape children, corrupt governments, and pervert doctrines virtually unopposed.
One only has to look at the events
surrounding WWII to see how the Vatican manipulates political powers. It seeks to regain the despotic power it held during the dark ages and it’s methods are
diabolically evil. Even in modern times the Vatican is the cause of horrendous human suffering and death.

In actuality, tribulation has been ongoing for Christians from the start. It
means distress, trouble, persecution, hardship. Initially, it came from the Jews
“And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad Acts 8:1.
In Matt, 24:3 the disciples ask a 3 fold question “ 1. Tell us, when shall these things be? 2. and what shall be the sign of thy coming, 3. and of the end of the world?” In response, Christ combined his answers to span from their time down to ours and beyond.
First he gave instructions so that Christians could escape the coming tribulation in AD 70 during the horrific siege of Jerusalem. Then he moved on, saying his followers would suffer persecution and deception would be rampant. Indeed, great tribulation came upon Christians from Pagan Rome and then Papal Rome during the 1260 years of Papal supremacy.
Bible believing Christians were tortured and killed by the cruelest of methods in barbaric inquisitions. Deception became entrenched and a false version of
Christianity mixed with paganism became a political control system that persecuted true Christians and ruled over the Kings of Europe.
However, Christ also spoke of a time of trouble (tribulation) coming upon the whole world in our near future. It will see the wicked destroyed by the wrath of God and the saints pass through unharmed. This is similar to the plagues on Egypt when Moses freed the Jews, or the flood where Noah and his family were preserved and the wicked perished. That’s why the saints of God are
“sealed” before the wrath of God is poured out.
Revelation 7:3-4 and 9:4 refer to group of people who have the seal of God, and thus His protection, during the tribulation. They are preserved whereas those with the mark of the beast (Rev. 13:16–18) are destroyed.
Revelation 9:4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.
Many people have bought into the lie that they will escape tribulation through a secret rapture and are not prepared spiritually to pass through it. They are deceived into believing we are heading into the reign of the Antichrist, when in actuality, that system has been
responsible for horrendous evil over the centuries and is now heading into its final and terrible judgement.

In the predicted doom of the Papacy there are thus two well-marked stages. There is, first, a gradual consumption; and there is, second, a sudden and
terrible destruction. The "consumption," a slow and gradual process, is to be
effected by the "spirit of His mouth,' by which we understand the preaching of the Gospel.
This consumption has been going on ever since the Bible was translated, and the Gospel began to be preached at the Reformation. Men have begun to see the errors of popery; its political props have been weakened, and in some instances struck from under it, and its hold generally on the nations of Christendom has been loosened; and thus the way has been prepared for the final stroke that will consummate its ruin.
Great systems like the papacy, with their roots far down and spread wide around, cannot be plucked up while in their vigor without dislocating human society. They must be left to grow ripe and become rotten, and then the final stroke may be dealt them with safety to the church and the world.
When that hour shall have come then will the second part of the doom of the Papacy overtake it. The Lord shall "destroy" it "with the brightness of His coming." The form of the judgment is left vague, but enough is said to warrant us to conclude that it will be swift and final - it will come with lightning flash, and its holy vengeance will be so manifest that, to use the figure in the prophecy, it will irradiate both heaven and earth with a moral splendour.
