PRESIDENT’S CORNER

Hello Goldenaires.

As we head toward Spring, I hope many of you have gotten your COVID vaccinations already! We can feel hopeful even as we still keep safe by wearing masks and social distancing. Whatever it takes to get us back to happier times! Everyone has been so careful and caring. Staying in, sharing calls and texts, and emails, to keep in touch, helping keep spirits up. Contact has been so precious during the past year!

The Board has been so limited in ways to reach out and stay connected to the Goldenaires, what with not being able to use the community center and not being able to provide any events, trips or classes. Our only event, so far, has been our Holiday Gala Take Out Dinner and Raffle, which was enjoyed by quite a few members and helped in our fund raising.

Since there was a request for more lunches, we thought we could have a different themed take-out lunch and raffle once a month, just to offer an enjoyable event to keep us engaged and safely active!

So, after our St. Patrick’s Day Corned Beef and Cabbage Luncheon, we’ll be presenting a lovely “Spring Bouquet Box Lunch” on April 16 th , with Baked Ham, Scalloped Potatoes, Mixed Vegetables, Rolls + Butter, and Carrot Cake. See details on page 2.

We hope you’re staying active with Jeanette Logan’s “Zoom Fitness” classes. She’s been keeping folks fit, happy and healthy for a long time with her aerobics, strength and

stretch classes! Check out her information on page 5! We hope that those that are participating in her pro- gram, that you are supporting her with a donation!

Before I forget, if anyone needs a computer monitor, I have an extra one in good condition that you can have. My son-in-law just gave us his and I don’t need two. If you’re interested, drop me a note at 618 “B” Street, San Rafael, CA 94901 or email Carol at srgoldenaires@gmail.com

Well, I guess that’s it for now – Keep on Keepin’ on – take care and stay well! I look forward to seeing you all, and to thank you for supporting us through these rough times! We can’t express enough how grateful we are that you all are there to keep the Goldenaires going!

Best Wishes,

Chris Chew President
