1. For Android

Step 1. Turn on Wi-Fi at Settings.

Step 2. Click “eduroam” and then select “PEAP” and “MSCHAPV2”. Type in your

username and password and then click “Connect”.

2. For iOS

Step 1. Go to “Settings” and turn on your “Wi-Fi”.

Step 2. From the “Choose a Network…”, select “eduroam”.

Step 3. Input your “Username” and “Password” and click “Join”.

a: Enter your username in the following format: <network id>@ift.edu.mo (or fully qualified domain name (FQDN) accounts)

b: Enter your password

Step 4. Click “Trust” to install “IFT-CPPM” certificate.

Step 5. Now eduroam is successfully connected.

3. For Windows Phone

Step 1. Go to the Application Window.

Step 2. Go to “Settings” and click “Wi-Fi”.

Step 3. Select “eduroam”.

Step 4. Enter your “Username” & “Password” and click “done”.

a: Enter your username in the following format: <network id>@ift.edu.mo (or fully qualified domain name (FQDN) accounts)

b: Enter your password

Step 5. Click “accept” to install certificate and connecting.

Step 6. Now eduroam is successfully connected.

4. For Mac OS

Step 1. Click the “Wi-Fi” button  “Turn Wi-Fi On” at the top right corner.

Step 2. From the “Wi-Fi: Looking for Networks…”, select “eduroam”.

Step 3. Input your “Username” (format: <network id>@ift.edu.mo (or fully qualified domain name (FQDN) accounts)) and “Password” and click “Join”.

Step 4. Click “Continue” to install “[email protected]” or other certificates.

Step 5. Now eduroam is successfully connected.

5. For Windows 7

5.1 Create a Wi-Fi Profile

Step 1. Click on Windows 7 “Start Menu” and then click “Control Panel”.

Step 2. Double click on “Network and Sharing Center”.

Step 3. Click on “Manage wireless networks”.

Step 4. Click “Add” button.

Step 5. Click on “Manually create a network profile”.

Step 6. In Network name (SSID), type the eduroam (Note: Network name / SSID is case-sensitive.)

- In Security type, select the “WPA2-Enterprise”.

- In Encryption type, select “AES”.

- Uncheck the “Start this connection automatically”.

- Click “Next”.

Step 7. Click on “Change connection settings”.

Step 8. Click on the “Security” tab.

Step 9. Uncheck the “Remember my credentials for this connection each time I’m

logged on”.

Step 10. Click the “Settings” button.

Step 11. Uncheck the “Validate server certificate” and click the “Configure…”

button.

Step 12. In EAP MSCHAPv2 Properties windows, uncheck the “Automatically use my Windows login name and password (and domain if any)”. Click “OK”

button.

Step 13. In Protected EAP Properties windows. Click “OK” button.

Step 14. In Wireless Network Properties windows, click “Advanced settings”.

Step 15. In “802.1X settings” tab:

- Check the “Specify authentication mode” checkbox.

- In specify authentication mode, select “User authentication”.

- Click “OK” button.

Step 16. In Wireless Network Properties, click “OK” button.

5.2 Connection to eduroam

Step 1. Double Click on the wireless connection icon as shown in the diagram to

view the status of the wireless access.

Step 2. When you are within range of the wireless Access Point and your wireless network radio enabled, Windows will display a connecting message to the network.

Step 3. When the network is connected, the below screen will appear. Enter your username (format: <network id>@ift.edu.mo (or fully qualified domain name (FQDN) Accounts)) and password to login to the wireless network.

Step 4. If the authentication process is successful, you will see the below screen.

6. For Windows 8 / 8.1 (Method 1)

Step 1. Click the “Wi-Fi” button at the bottom right corner.

Step 2. From the “Wi-Fi”, select “eduoram” and click “Connect”.

Step 3. Input your “Username” (format: <network id>@ift.edu.mo (or fully qualified domain name (FQDN) Accounts) and “Password” and click “OK”.

Step 4. Click “Connect” to continue connecting.

Step 5. Now eduroam is successfully connected.

7. For Windows 8 / 8.1 (Method 2)

7.1 Add a Wi-Fi Profile

Step 1. At the Metro Screen, press the “windows key + x” to go to the Control Panel.

Step 2. In the Control Panel window, click on “Network and Internet”.

Step 3. In Network and Internet window, click on “Set up a new connection or network”.

Step 4. Next, click on “Manually connect to a wireless network”.

Step 5. When prompted to enter the wireless network information:

- Enter the “eduroam” Network name / SSID. (Note: SSID is case-sensitive.) - Select “WPA2-Enterprise” as the Security type. Encryption type will be

defaulted to AES.

- Enable the “Start this connection automatically” checkbox.

- Enable the “Connect even if the network is not broadcasting” checkbox.

- Click the “Next” button.

Step 6. In the next window, click on “Change connection settings”.

Step 7. In the pop-up window, Wireless Network Properties:

- Ensure the checkboxes for “Connect automatically when this network is in range” and “Connect even if the network is not broadcasting its name (SSID)”

are checked.

- Click on the “Security” tab.

Step 8. Under the “Security” options:

- Ensure Security type is set to WPA2-Enterprise.

- Ensure Encryption type is set to AES.

- Select “Microsoft: Protected EAP (PEAP)” for network authentication method.

Uncheck the “Remember my credentials for this connection each time I’m logged on” checkbox.

- Click on “Settings” button.

Step 9. In the Protected EAP Properties page:

- Uncheck “Validate server certificate”.

- Uncheck “Enable Fast Reconnect”.

- Select “Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2)” for authentication method.

- Click on the “Configure…” button.

- Uncheck the “Automatically use my Windows login name and password”.

Click on “OK” button.

Step 10. Under the “Security” options:

- Click on the “Advanced settings” option from the followings:

- Ensure the checkbox for “Enable single sign on for this network” is checked.

7.2 Connection to eduroam

Step 1. Double Click on the wireless connection icon as shown in the diagram to view the status of the wireless access.

Step 2. When you are within range of the wireless Access Point and your wireless

network radio enabled, Windows will display a connecting message to the

network.

Step 3. When the network is connected, the below screen will appear. Enter your username (format: <network id>@ift.edu.mo (or fully qualified domain name (FQDN) Accounts)) and password to login to the wireless network.

Step 4. If the authentication process is successful, you will see the below screen.

Step 5. Now eduroam is successfully connected.
