New Law Programs

Students are able to undertake a law degree alone, or combined with a degree in arts, business administration, commerce, global studies or theology. Dual degrees are a great way to broaden your knowledge base and tailor your education to maximise your employment opportunities.

gLobaL Focus

Recognising the role lawyers can play in international commerce and diplomacy, ACU’s law programs have a distinctive international flavour. All students will be required to undertake internationally focused subjects throughout their program to build their capacity to engage internationally. ACU is globally connected, and has relationships with a wide range of overseas Universities which law students can attend on exchange. They can work in community programs around the world – all while receiving credit towards their degree.

ethicaL aNd PracticaL

An ACU law degree is about teaching students to think critically and ethically and be guided by social justice principles. It’s about passing on the skills to bring about change in communities and in society. Our law programs are all based on creating ethical and practical legal practitioners who understand the challenges of law in modern society.

Pro boNo LegaL work

All students are required to complete a minimum of 240 and as much as 320 hours of Pro Bono legal professional experience throughout their law program. This allows students to give back to their communities and make a difference, whilst gaining practical legal experience.

ACU’s Pro Bono program will introduce law students to the workings of the legal profession and provide them with the opportunity to meet, observe and work with organisations serving the public interest.

Law iNductioN week

The ACU Law Induction Week (LIW) will be held at the Melbourne and Sydney campuses in February. LIW offers students a unique introduction to the study of law through introductory law lectures, mooting, court visits, legal profession events and social activities. It is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge essential to their legal studies and future careers.

PersoNaLised LearNiNg

eNviroNmeNt

We pride ourselves on small class sizes and highly individualised personal attention for each of our students. In the Faculty of Law we cap the intake of our students to ensure a high quality learning environment where the Executive Dean, Professors, the First Year Experience Coordinator and academic staff are easily accessible.
