FROM BAR TO SITE

ONE PROCESS - ONE PRODUCTION WAY - ONE INSTALLATION

Certify :

A CONNECTION ALWAYS STRONGER THAN THE REBAR

Bar break with visible necking during tensile tests

A CONNECTION TOLERANT TO MISTAKES

The full efforts are transfered even with defects of the rebar

geometry and / or the installation

A FINANCIALLY EFFICIENT CONNECTION

through an industrial process, a manufacturing in large series

, a proximity of construction sites, simple solutions for complex cases.

Production ratio

Time saving Standardization Time saving

Competitive prices even for complex connections

Easy installation on site Industrial manufacturing of the couplers

Conception

Thread coss section > rebar cross section, Thread length > standards for nuts and bolts,

Optimization of the external dimensions of the coupler Impossible to connect a continuation bar of a different diameter Impossible to screw the continuation bar on the bias Self centering of the continuation bar inside the coupler

Proper fitting is checked by a simple visual inspection

No Torque Wrench needed

Final control of dimensions isindépendent from

machinery : guaranty of conformity Cold upsetting + ISO profile thread with big pitch

Advantages and tolerated mistakes

Complete transfer of the effort even with a 20% unscrewed connection

Simple use even in projects with reinforcement congestion Security of the installation,

Blind installation of the continuation bar

in projects with reinforcement congestion

Anyone can at any time check the connections

with just one glance and with no tool No special tool, no calibrated tool

No risk to damage the cnnection with a too high torque

No risk that the torque is achieved but the efforts are not fully transfered

Mechanical tools for control : normalised and calibrated, no way to have measurement trouble Profile difference, height of the ribs (depending on the rebar trade marks) : no influence on the result Possible loss of material on the thread : no influence on the strength

INSTALLATION

CUTTING :

The rebar end is cut with an automatic bandsaw.

THREADING :

The upset part is then threaded, by cutting for the range C, and by rolling for the range Dyn. All threads are in ISO-profile.

Those operations are done with a specific BARTEC Technology machinery.rond à béton des modes

COLD UPSETTING :

For each diameter, a machinery and specific dies are used to define and control the volume of material to move and ensure the result.

CONTRôLE :

A final check on the thread is proceeded with a predefined frequency :

With a calibrated ring for the profile and diameter, and with a depth gauge for the length.

Manufacturing of couplers

Rebar end treatment and Couplers

At this stage the product manufactured in

certified workshops is able to ensure the total transmission of effort

.

No other additional test or check is needed.

COUPLERS

The coupler is manufactured industrially under strict quality control.

The raw material has mechanical properties that are defined and permanently checked to ensure com-pliance of the connection to the most severe applications (earthquakes, shocks,...), the traceability of the material and manufacturing is ensured by a code stamped on each coupler.

The rebar is automatically centered by

a chamfr at the end of the coupler. Impossible

to connect a continuation rebar of a

different Ø from that of the first rebar.

Tightened with a spanner with no need to

check the torque. Proper fitting by a simple visual inspection.
